tbh those two groups arent the hardest to piss off tho....

The homosexuals are actually pretty cool about things and 99% of them just went to be left alone.

the gays are really chill, true, but im speaking about for the church, the muslims and homos are the easiest to offend

It wasn't just Jews who were pissed off, the leaders of Germany and France protested and Germany was considering prosecuting the guy for holocaust denial.

An interesting question is whether the guy's excommunication will be restored if he refuses to recant. It sounds like he's going to be readmitted as a Catholic no matter what, they just won't let him become a church official if he denies the holocaust.
