Well i am going to be getting a new sound card soon and i was just wondering what sound card would be the best but yet still be affordable. thanks in advance.
sound cards are pretty cheap compared to graphics cards. You can pick up a Creative Z2 for around $80 or you can get a Creative X-Fi xtreme music for $130+
You can get the X-Fi Xtreme Music for around ~$100 if you look. I guarantee you that it's worth the extra money over an Audigy 2 ZS, even if you aren't the world's biggest audiophile.
For extra gaming performance I recommend the X-Fi Fatal1ty

naw i find the xfi Fatal to be the same as the xtrememusic
The Fatal1ty's 64MB of XRAM is only going to see significantly higher performance during periods of massive audio playback, which isn't really worth it for an extra $150 (in my opinion). The XtremeMusic is more than worthy for BF2.

i have the x-fi elite pro and its great:). if you can afford like most people wont because if its price today.

Worth the money to have an Elite pro or Fatal1ty, the 64mb of X-ram means it can do the ultra-hi sound quality in BF2 128 voices yay!

Not sure, I dont think so, apparently you get better frame rates with the x-ram ones as well, which pushes me to one.
that is true. only the fatal1ty and elite pro has x ram 64 mb but the xtrememusic and platinum only has 2 mb. i bought the elite pro just a few weeks ago and i am never going back to audigy cards. if you wanna be playing battlefield 2 the right way, get the high end x-fi soundcards.
