I need a little clarification on this - why do Guantanamo detainees/cleared suspects need to be moved overseas to Europe, Australia, UK, etc?

If they're harmless, why can't they just be put in some little town in the middle of nowhere in America?  I don't see any need to put them overseas.  I won't go so far as to say "Your problem, deal with it yourself," as I've read in some opinions, but I can't see the reason either.

Maybe some of them would hate to live in America due to the treatment they have been given in Gitmo. They often cant go back home, so maybe another country is needed. Thats just a guess though.

Depending on where they go to live in America they'll be lynched at night. It's not like they could just move in somewhere here without some group setting up a "Find the terrorist in your town" website.

Australia hasn't had a problem with them and wouldn't have a reason to bring harm to them and are more tolerant I assume. UK and Spain go either way.
