Aye i've done that before, though granted it was because my motherboard died but still. All they do is ask for the model of motherboard it used to be and the model of motherboard it is now. Tbh i think they don't really care as long as it seems that you've not just randomly given your key out to other people.FloppY_ wrote:

Are you sure about that?
I don't know myself because I don't waste my money on non-oem versions of windows operating systems tbh
The OS that comes with Laptops is allways OEM, hence he cannot upgrade it to 64bit since it is an OEM key
If you are right, then most likely that works with one key because there are two types of keys, "full version" keys and oem keys that only work with the xxbit version they are sold as... because I know for sure that XP pro 32bit enterprise edition does not include the 64bit version and the same applies to my OEM MediaCenterEdition, but it is OEM and that is why
but about the keys then.... you could be right about the difference between OEM and Retail - the only proper solution is for him to try it and report back, tbh And since he can enter the key during the install, not too much time wasted The only other thing might be activating Vista using the old key on the new hardware Meh, still worth a try
Haha, clever ideaFloppY_ wrote:

Good luck getting it to work OP
Thanks .JoshP wrote:

If noobeater is correct, I should have no problem. Will see if it xounts for the 64bit version too though
Ok, here´s teh build so far. What do you say, worth 990€? Should I change something?
Looks pretty good. however im not familar with the case.. personally dont think i'd go for that one but its up to you.Sisco10 wrote:

More cooling on the CPU. While the F7P works great with duals, its design really isn't all that good for quad cores.
Case is fine, I've used one and they work great

Hm, I too this one, because it isn´t the ugliest one and it´s not as expensive as the one that got suggested at the beginning of this thread.Little BaBy JESUS wrote:

If you choose between the Xigmatek, Vendetta 2 and Thermalright (TRUE) you should take a look at this:Sisco10 wrote:

Which shows that the Vendetta is actually better in normal tower configs (with a single fan though)
And the Vendetta has looks on its side aswell
I recieved mine last thursday,, it is freaking awesome

*agrees with floppy* the vendetta 2 is a great cooler, decent price. unlike the TRUE which comes with no fan(s) so u have that cost onto of the cooler already being more expensive.FloppY_ wrote:

So, i chose the Xigmatec cause from the suggested coolers it´s the only one available on alternate.lol. But thanks floppy for the link, the review was pretty helpful.
And thanks max for the cooler suggestions.
I have another question though, cause the ram I wanted to use just got more expensive:
http://www.alternate.de/html/pcbuilder/ … B&cn=1
shall I still use it, or is there an alternative?
Thank you so much guys for the steady input!
And to the one giving me the lovely karma (aka Cutie4Eva): <3<3<3<3
~edit~ max, I owe you karma, 24 hour restriction

for ram I'd get this.
Cheap, good timings. Kingston isn't my fave brand but these dimms are good and come with a lifetime warranty
The ram you linked has no real advantage over these. Also if you even run 4 ram modules the OCZ coolers might get in the way

Okay guys, looks like this is my final build:
Whaddoyousay? Shall I get this one?
Whaddoyousay? Shall I get this one?
Sold.
Hm, Corsair is more expensive and Alternate has no 1066GDDR2 from G.skill.
HyperX blows compared to OCZ, Corsair, G.SKILL, A-DATA, Mushkin...*list goes on*
and btw it is not GDDR2... just DDR2. GDDR2 is for graphics cards.
