Does it chew alot of RAM and other stuff from your computer like vista does?

edit: @ Josh, Sharing folders were crap... drag-n-drop send&recieve = win
nowai, sharing folders were epic

drag in a load of albums to share and they all just turned up without any connection drops or stuff like that

beleive me, sending lots single files through msn is fail, and sending a big rar is also fail, becuase 9 times out of 10 your connection will drop in the last 20% of the transfer...
I don't use MSN sharing anymore, except for quick-sending screenshots (Hit Printscreen, click to type in teh MSN window, CTRL-V)

When sending a song, Uploading it to dropbox, copying the public link, and writing up a quick webpage to show the link is 10x faster than MSN sharing.♠♦
Exactly ... using msn sharing is for small files only.. everything else goes through a public sharing center like megaupload.com...

That is why sharing folders suck

I just read that if you'd run WLM9 in vista compatibility mode, it will move to the tray.
I didn't test this though.

OMG ORGASM!!!

If you doubleclick/open an ISO in 7, it offers to burn it.

I may just have to go out and buy this os...

Spoiler (highlight to read):
not that I haven't been buying my other OS's

Edit:

I also love how when you hover over the taskbar icons, it flares up the average color of the taskbar icon, it's pretty epic. AND SO SMOOTH!!!

Well that was faster than I expected...

I was playing Peggle Extreme and it BSOD'd, I reboot, Login, 5 seconds in, BSOD again, and it's been doing that since, I'm trying safemode now.

I'm on 7 now I love it.

IE is still a piece of shit, though.

Was installing drivers, and in the tab on the taskbar it showed the progress of the installation. That's ace.

How do I make my taskbar transparent?

Lol, it rates my hardware at 2.9 as that's the lowest thing (IDE HDD. ) All other stuff gets 5.9

EDIT: Also there's a little button on the right that you click to go to the desktop. Love it.

Does 7 have the flicky windows selecter thingie?

I might try this new-fangled Windows 7 thing out...

Except I don't want to lose 300Gb of media that's stuck on my main internal SATA (all other drives are full at the moment) and I don't want to sacrifice my 5.1 Creative sound because of driver-release laziness on their part. So I think I'll wait until things are little better supported, and also preferably until I get my hands on another SATA.

Just create a new partition and do dual boot.

I looked in my computer, said the C drive had 14GB of space, and when I tried to install Win7 there was a partition of 78Gb with 14GB free and 14MB of unpartitioned space. Tried to do it again, but Acronis now gives me an error message when I try to start it up.
Try GParted. Burn onto disc. Shrink XP partition. Make new parition. Apply. Done.

Question: anyone know why my XP partition doesnt show up in W7, but in XP my W7 partition shows up? Is it because of how the partitions are flagged? And can I add my XP partition (be able to view and take files from) to W7?

Sad as it is, Explorer in 7 started crashing(it'd load up the My Computer screen, but then won't navigate anywhere else)

and it started randomly BSODing, so at this point I'm back to Vista 64.

7's a great OS though, I shall miss it forever(well, at least till some later beta comes out)

CoD4 Multiplayer doesn't work, the greenish guy with the gun comes up, screen goes black, as if loading in, then it does nothing, and if I C-A-D then W7 reports that it isn't working and asks if I wish to stop it.

Look the the Post your Desktop thread, I posted three sites there.

Also, I ran it in XP SP2 compatibility as Admin and it's working fine. Dunno which one fixed it, I did both.

Looks like they've removed the 2.5 mil download limit. Download away
Good news, Windows 7 fanatics -- Microsoft has decided to nix that 2.5 million download limit in order to a) calm everyone down and b) enable its servers to relax just a wee bit. After the Windows 7 Beta download was launched, it took just hours to bring the servers to a screeching halt as consumers 'round the globe attempted to get in before the 2.5 million mark was hit. Now, however, the team has removed that barrier for the next fortnight (through January 24th, being that it was decided on Saturday) in effort to make the download experience more ideal.
