You obviously don't live in Australia then? Most Europeans moved here during or following WW2 including large populations of Greeks and Russians, you are ignorant in the fact that you do not know that there are different dates or even the reasons for the dates. Such as if one parking area has a 30 minute time limit and another 45 minute, it is your pure ignorance if you fail to notice the difference and call the police stupid.Uzique wrote:
How can I be ignorant when you Christians can't even decide on a proper day for the main date in your calendar, tch.
An Orthodox Christian in Australia? How did that happen anyway? I thought those loons were Greek/Russian and other old-world places like that, didn't know the Christian indecision had spread to our colonies.

Exactly, so January 7th is pretty much Christmas for Orthodox Christians only. The rest of the world celebrates it on the 25th.spray_and_pray wrote:

"Some Orthodox churches have Christmas on January 7 because they follow the old Julian calendar. In the 16th century, Pope Gregory of Rome reformed the calendar, and so Western Christmas is on December 25.
The Jankovics cherish Orthodox Christmas because it links them to their culture and family."

Theres a website somewhere where it explains it all, the earlier Roman calendars skipped a few days and was in fact totally messed up until 8 AD when the leap years stopped over adding up. After Julius Caesar (I think) died it was mis interpereted and a leap year was added every 3 years instead of 4 so there have been a lot of revisions. Jesus was also born in 5 BC, go figures.ColCarnage wrote:
