Catholicism/Christianity....

'Amen'...

'Amun-Ra'...

Religious conspiracy theories are the best.
Whoa... Can't believe these forums are still kicking.

My post always gets buried at the bottom of a page, damnit, read my historically boring but interesting facts! At least Uzique might appreciate it

I read it.

I appreciated it.

It was smart.

Needs more vitriolic anti-Christian spite though.

I love how people think this is some sort of revelation, that they're figuring out the "Big Religion" conspiracy NWO novus ordus seclorum all that jazz... In the words of Terry Tate, "[t]hat ain't new, baby!"

Dunno about getting all excited like that, It's just sharing information that's been around for awhile but is rarely known by most of the public, especially people who are very religious towards their respective religion ( big ones like Christianity etc..) - It amazes me how little these people know about the history of their religion (and not talking about the Bible where they say god made the world in 7 days etc..) but the actual history of the religion.

Easy example is how you have so many Europeans talking about how their respective country is a Christian country and Europe is Christian etc... like do people even know why Europe is Christian and shit, same thing about Islam too. History really needs to be taught properly in schools, and especially religious history, and by that I mean not talking about the history of the religion in the way they want it to (e.g: Learning about the history of Christianity by reading the book of Genesis, what the hell is that shit)

Mek, the correct teaching of religious history would destroy Christianity.

Imo the destruction of the nature worshipping 'pagan' traditions of Europe = a terrible thing for humanities development as a whole.

I actually disagree here. Christianity has so little to to with history that if people as a whole were taught all of this, it would just encourage more practice of those bygone and little-known religions of yore.

Norse Mythology is by far the coolest religion though, I mean come on, no religion can beat this:

I SMITE THEE IN THE NAME OF THOR!

And then proceed smashing your opponents skull with a 4 feet warhammer.

Traditional religions are basically all the same.
But why?

Is it the subliminal genetic programming planted by our alien overlords millenia ago?

Or is it we tend to fall on our backs and look up at the stars when walking home from the pub?
