Sen. John McCain pointedly refused to say Sunday that he would back Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin if she runs for president in 2012, saying there are plenty of other good people in the Republican Party to consider, including Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty.

"Oh, no," McCain said on ABC's "This Week" program when asked if his former running mate could count on his support.

"Listen, I have the greatest appreciation for Governor Palin and her family, and it was a great joy to know them. She invigorated our campaign. ... But I can't say something like that. We've got some great other young governors."

"I think you're going to see the governors assume a greater leadership role in our Republican Party." As examples, he mentioned Pawlenty -- whom McCain passed over for Palin -- and Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman."
Cold Blooded, but shows he has a little more sense than I previously thought.

He's looking at the long term implications in choosing Palin as a GOP candidate and the general direction of his party which is a good thing.

Pawlenty seems rather conservative, which imo is what the Republicans should be leaning towards for the next few years. Counter Obama by taking up the middle ground, which is one of the factors that cost them this last election.

he didn't say he wouldn't...lol... he said he wanted to wait and see what happens if and when other governors/candidates decide to run... makes sense to me... If he picks her now and someone comes along that is a better choice... he would look foolish to have picked her and then changed his mind and support the new person...  He is an honorable and nice person... and he is just being honest...

You're joking, right?

She'll definitely try to, and she'll almost CERTAINLY be around in 2012.

Yeah. I wish that was the case, but she'll be back. Oh well, debates should be fucking hilarious.

Hmm one way John McCain can C-block Palin is to get Hilary R.C. switched over to the Republican Party and support her. That's the Maverick thing to do.

Policies change little from President to President and as with most governments, its the advisers, ministers and staff who call the shots.  A leader can only make decisions based on the information available to them. The people giving and withholding the information have the power.
As the US president is on my TV constantly, why not have one that's good to look at?

30 turkeys in our field which are getting their necks pulled tomorrow. I shall be thinking of her while I pull those necks, fantasising about humping her amongst the feathers and blood. ooooh, I have said too much..............

See sig.
