The camera moved, which I thought was quite funny. Either it fell or they did the start from a different lap.
Camera moved? Of course the camera moved it's automated and changed so you don't get one single view the whole race. That's the whole point of putting a mounted camera there instead of a cameraman who'll get in the way.
He is replaceable.
edit: i haven't watched the ep so maybe the camera was just mounted and not meant to move. But imo it might not have been a static one. Video would make it obvious though.

Yeah the camera's the difference. I think they're mounted on a sort of swivel so they can get different shots, overhead, alongside the driver etc.
Yep - for the tyrewall so they can get a close-up on the tyres
You always see that in Top Gear.

2) The reason I'm guessing there is some controversy with the "spot the difference" is because, the first pic was taken at the beginning of stig's lap, and the other was somewhere in the middle. But if it was supposed to be him doing the lap, how did they change the camera set up in between?
