It may be a dumb question to you, but if I'm seeking 20 kills for a Vet badge in BF2 do I have to play BF2 or can I play SF to achieve it. If I get 22 kills I get the VET Badge in SF but would I still get the BF2 Vet badge too?

- Does point in SF count towards the regular BF2?
you cannot get a sf badge in bf2.
but, if you play spec forces and need your 20 for your normal bf2 vet then you will be awarded that in sf before you get the sf version.
so all awards can be gotten in sf, but only normal bf2s can be gotten in bf2.

I think Heart attack has it right but this will make it easier.
Special Forces is and Expansion on BF2. You can earn ANY award you can get in BF2 playing on SF Maps.
SPecial FOrces awards must be earned in Special Forces maps though.

Awesome...I assumed that I could only get the BF2 awards outside the expansion but this is indeed good news.
On the other hand, the SF players seem to be a little better than your avg. BF2 players so the awards may be tougher to get...would you agree?
Thanks guys. That clears it up.

I can confirm what Impaqt & the_heart_attack have said as I did it last night for my Vet Support Combat badge. First I got the BF vet, then 2 kill later the SF vet badge while on Warlord.
Also,
I wouldn't say the SF players are better then vanilla BF player.
I would say that the ratio for newb vs. seasoned players is greater on BF than it is on SF.
