i couldnt make my gamespy account name the same as my BF2 one becasue my BF2 account name has punctuation characters in it, and gamespy wont allow that.
I got round it be just using the same name with only normal characters

it's not the account name, or login name you need to changed. it's your display name in your profile.

i tried changing my GameSpy name i must have done that wrong well i need to wait now it says: "you cant change your ID name because you allready changed it 3 times, you can change it next week"

Hmm, it wouldnt let me use my profile name so i used the Gamespy account name i opened before i started using Xfire...

thats got nothing whatsoever to do with BF2 or BF2s. you need to talk to gamespy support.

you can play it now i see loads of people playing and some people that i know do aswell so, but i think i need to change gamespy ID (as said above) but i cant coz i allready tried that 3 times and you can only do 3 times a week :S

i just did it. its running now -*sigh* --thougt i had to spend the evening with my girlfriend ..
after you have changed the nick in gamespy, be sure to have only "punkbuster" and "ranked" ticked in the server filter. that did it for me, maybe also for you, just try.
and: there are hundreds of servers playing ef waiting for you out there
