So how does one go about recording a video played on a console without using a videocamera. ie, how do I take a game I played on my ps2, record it, edit it then be able to post it to the internet all without using a video camera?

you'll need a capture card. You can't use your normal gfx card. Alternatively you can use a DVD/HDD recorder if you own one
