Ok, question about air power. Why would you want something comparable to your enemies instead of vastly superior? Just like why would you want to have body armor comparable to the round that is being shot at you instead of body armor that you have 100% gurantee will stop it from harming you?
On airpower, I reckon we only show our compatible stuff and our leet stuff will only be seen if it gets shot down. Secret.
On body armor, I think they make it as strong as can be at a reasonable weight.

That's not what it's about. The F-22 and F-35 are simply useless in these wars. We're not engaging in dogfighting with anyone, and we currently have planes like the F-A/18's, F-16's and F-15's which can all do the job that's needed of fighters incredibly well.Ridir wrote:

We need to put that money into exactly that (well, just one of the things), actually - better armor/vehicles for our infantry.

The paradox is only a conflict between reality and your feeling what reality ought to be.

Yeah, everyone in the military should be a republican.
It doesn't matter what party you support, it still remainsis democrats historlically do not support a strong militaryhttp://blondemomblog.com/wp-content/upl … 51410.jpegExpand to Meet Military Needs on the Ground: Barack Obama and Joe Biden support plans to increase the size of the Army by 65,000 soldiers and the Marines by 27,000 troops. Increasing our end strength will help units retrain and re-equip properly between deployments and decrease the strain on military families.

Yeah, looks a LOT like not wanting a strong military.
The main thing I've seen is what he and Robert Gates both agree on. Decrease funding sharply for the F-22 and F-35, but greatly increase funding for the Air Force as a whole. While I like both of those jets vastly, it's what is necessary to take on our enemies in today's wars. It just doesn't make sense to continue the funding into those programs at the levels we have when there are so many other problems that are going on.
And considering the Air Force is the branch I'm going for, that plan of action sounds the best to me on a personal level.
So, drop the tinfoil hat and actually look at the facts.

You still avoided the fact that McCain SUPPORTED THE WALL STREET BAILOUT!
Nothing I can say to defend that, I did not support the Wall Street bailout. I guess he thinks desorate times call for desporate measures. He is historically, NOT a socialist. Obama is.Poseidon wrote:

So basically, you criticize Obama for wanting bigger government by using the fact that he voted for the bailout, but at the same time give McCain a pass for doing the same thing due to the fact that he's a Republican. When a Democrat does it, it's "voting for bigger government" and he or she is the spawn of the Devil himself. When a Republican does it, it's "oh, he just thinks in desperate times it calls for desperate measures".lowing wrote:

Just so we're clear.
The simple fact of the matter is that if you wanted a smaller government, you should have voted Bob Barr or someone else not from the two main parties. Instead, you chose to keep your blind affiliation going strong.
Independent thinking ftl apparentely.
