What would you say is your tech company of the year, for whatever reason? Feel free to post several for great justice, if you're that way inclined.

I would say that Logitech are my company of the year, any company that makes 1 billion of anything is obviously remarkable, and my MX518 is brilliant.

I would also mention ASUS, LG and Sapphire/ATi, for obvious reasons (48--).

Hankook, for making awesomely cheap and powerful batteries.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

ATi.  What they pulled off this year caught nVidia with their pants down, and nVidia didn't really have much of a response.  Their recent price drops basically give nVidia a wedgie.

I won't include Logitech because my friend's G7 (that I bought for him last Christmas, nonetheless) now only intermittently works.  Reliable?  Maybe for a year or so.  It needs to last longer than that for it to be reliable IMO.  A special shoutout to Razer - my Copperhead is still going strong after 2.5 years or so.

ATI section of AMD

Price to performance graphics cards owns Nvidia.

Hmm perhaps not Logitech, I can't stand my G5, it's so uncomfortable =/

Oh, right, it's not supposed to make sense. Gotcha. 8) I vote VMWare for giving out ESXi free of charge, and generally kicking ass.

CPUs - Intel         They have done amazing job with the Core i7. The performance increase in multi-gpu setups is notable.
GPUs - AMD         They showed NVIDIA that they are still in the game stronly and offer great products with very affordable price.

But one that I really  think deserves this award is Asus. They are really kicking some butt by offering top of the line Core i7 and C2D motherboards that have won many awards. Especially the latest P6T Deluxe which has won several X58 round-ups.
I'm really pleased of their products I have owned/own. I will continue using Asus motherboards and gfx cards in my i7 build.

for creating highly functional tech with fabulous looks. Plus they have an outstanding customer support! Really outstanding!

Asus failed for me this year. Horribly. My G1´s gpu burned out after less than a year of usage. They were always good in my books, but after they jacked 1600€ for buggy hardware like this, I hate them. With all my heart.

I think ASUS has done it all. Like Panzer said, and then building such kick ass little netbooks and mobile computers. Even their full size notebooks are still pretty rad. Their PC parts are even better. ASUSTek 4 Lyfe!!!!!
