I've read several forms, and tried the processor affinity bit for both bf2.exe and e~5000.  Updated PB.  I've tried setting BF2 to 32-bit compatibility mode.  Still it won't stay connected.  Single player works, but it will not stay connected to a server for more then 10 seconds.

Anyone else know of a work around?

ITS FIXED!!!!111!!!!

Not sure what fixed it.  Maybe a combination of things.  No need to set processor Affinity!  It works with both cores!

Here's what I did:

Uninstalled and reinstalled to the normal default directory, not the "program files (x86).  (*This did not fix it, but in case of a combination of things maybe this will help)

What did fix it was I downloaded Special Forces with the EA downloader.  It then automatically patched again to 1.1, in which I applied patch 1.21 again after that. 

Booted right up and works everytime. 

BTW; this card is unbelievable.  I can see all the way across maps in a plane with incredible detail.

he got it in SLI mode... SLI 7900gtx can beat 1900xtx in crossfire...

I hade to set affinity to 1st cpu to get BF to stop dropping on me. I also turned off QoS in the network setup control panel, just for good measure. Haven't had the problem for a while now.

Clear across the map? doesnt bf2 have a max draw distance? mines at 100% but i cant see more then say 1/4 of the way in a jet. Am I missing something?

The Nvidia 7900 will own the ATI 1900 in BF2 for sure, as its optimized for Nvidia

Is there a way to do this once and for all, or is it necessary to run BF2 and then open Task Manager to do it?

shut up : (  lol.  I might sale mine to get a 7900.  I hear it uses less energy and runs quieter
