Ok, so i need to know which to get for christmas :C
One of my mates has RB, the other has GH4, and depending on which i buy is what we all play xD Cos we're gonna buy the other guy a copy.
So which should I get, anyone played em yet? Able to give real feedback on how well the instruments are made etc?

RB2. GHWT seems pretty good, but RB2 is just a superior game atm. I love it.

Plus, RB2 has a better set list and is much better for playing with friends from everything I've heard. My friend actually got GHWT from GameFly and HATED IT. He sent it back 2 days later.

Dont suppose you got the chance to play the isntruments? I heard the Gh4 Drum kit, which im most interested in is better than RB's. So we were thinking of buy Gh4 with the instruments and then just buying Rock band 2 game on its own

I did not, but I've used the RB2 drums and they're awesomely awesome.

I was actually thinking of doing that same thing, but then I heard about some problems people have been having with the GHWT drums.

I dunno, I just prefer the way the RB2 drums are set up by far.

As an owner of GH:WT, my vote goes to... Rock Band 2.  Here's why.  There is more music on RB2 and the drums are better (in my opinion; my GH drums need to be absolutely slammed on to register a note).  I think RB2 is the better choice if you have a PS3.

Null Vote - Buy a real intrument instead.

I wouldn't know, but my mates love the Guitar Hero series, so GH4 gets my vote

I have a drum kit worth just under 2 grand.

Then play that! Don't waste your time on a video game where you're limited to what you can play! I bought Guitar Hero 2 a while ago when I have an expensive guitar setup, and as fun as it was with friends, it was just stupid after medium. Hard was kind of difficult and I'm sure if I just practiced for a week, I'd be fine, but then looking at the expert songs I  just sold the game. You can spend all the time you want trying to get 100% on Through the Fire and Flames or you can spend just as much time learning that and many other great songs on a real instrument. That's just my view on it though, seems stupid to practice to get really good at an instrument you're limited to in your living room as opposed to an instrument you can be playing anywhere.

Depends if you want bass, guitar, mic, and drums id go with RB2 for it is made for all of those specifically. But if you just want guitar get GHWT obviously. But my vote goes RB2.

I love RB 1 & 2 so so sooooooo much. Get those. AFAIK, there's much more customization, plus the songs are better, and I like the look of the RB games way more than that of the new GH games. Lastly, I feel like I'd much rather support Harmonix. I've been playing their games ever since they came out with FreQuency on the PS2.

I've played both. I own RB2, but my friends come over to play and one of them brings GHWT and his guitar sometimes. The "touch buttons" on the GHWT guitar are pointless in my opinion. By the time I get my fingers down there I've already missed a few notes, and it's hard to tell what buttons you're on. I haven't used the GHWT drum set, but my friend says he likes the RB2 drums way better. Singing seems to be more difficult in GHWT as well. The track list in RB2 is way better too, and they have better band songs in my opinion. GHWT songs seem to be more focused on the guitar. Tour mode is a lot better in RB2 too. Being able to win things like the bus or plane are just awsm and being able to hire staff is pretty cool too. RB2 has more character customization too imo. I never really liked the notes in GH games either. RB's are a lot cleaner, and i like being able to see my stars fill up. Also, you can't save your friends in GHWT, and I have to do that....a lot

Short - Buy Rock Band 2.
