It took less than a week to file a law suit against everyone with money in the death of the guy killed by a stampede at Walmart.

The cops, the county, WalMart, hell everyone except the people who killed this guy is gunna be sued. Go figure since none of them have any money.

Looks like someone found a meal ticket.

I disagree, this is a criminal case, with criminal behavior by those responsible for stomping this guy. to make this a money issue is clearly someone looking to simply get paid, off of this death, money not punishment is the motivation here.

Less than a week, that means they were talking lawsuit ( exploiting this death for money) before this guys body was cold

Oh i totally agree with you, but doubtless they'll bring up safety legislation, why wasn't it enforced etc etc (people per minute through doors et al)

i agree 100% with you though, its pathetic

Seems a bit like darwinism at work to me.. Only one man died, most enterance doors swing inwards.. I do however agree on the wrongful death lawsuit if it's deemed that he didn't die from being stupid.. Like where his body was lying on the floor.

I know there are a lot of bullshit lawsuits these days but I don't think this is one of them IMO. The poor guy was killed in a mob of assholes while frantically shopping, in a situation created by walmart. It seemed obvious to me in recent years that this kind of xmas madness deal of a lifetime whoever runs to the electronics dept. first gets the deal would get to this point. I'm not a religious man but this doesn't seem like the spirit of xmas i was told of. I hope the plaintiff gets paid.

So what are you prepared to do? Sue Walmart for having a sale? These people ripped the damn doors off. Walmart is not responsible for others behavior. Only those individuals are responsible.

This is true, but they have video tapes and if they can identify the people who stomped this guy, there is your criminal suit. No blood money should be paid, unless by the criminals. WalMArt the county nor the police did anything wrong.

I disagree, Warlmart as a retailer shouldn't be letting a massive number of people through the doors like that. They should have prepared better for that day. Lets say, a row of security and if anyone so much as walks a fraction faster than anyone else they are pulled outta the queue. They're not completely responsible for this, but they are partially. It could've been avoided with good prep and common sense...

Why should Walmart be responsible for making sure everyone behaves. Isn't that our responsibility. Oh I forgot I live in America, where there is always someone else to blame or sue for my actions.

I said partially. Shops generally have rules that they put in place because of legislation. Of which it is illegal not to do.

They don't put "Wet floor" signs around because they're really nice people...

Same for allowing a certain number of people in at a time, as well as letting people in that are pushing and pulling to get infront of others...

Well they weren't even having any sales that weren't out of the ordinary, it was just that they were opening up at 4 A.M.. I'm not sure if this was the first year that they tried it but not having proper crowd control does fall under the responsibilty of the company.. Not the police, unless they were contacted and not in force..

Is there a place we can see the video.. I'm not saying people aren't ass holes but I would like to see what's going on.. Also criminal charges against the people if they where in the wrong is a smart move.

If I heard correctly...I think the crowd broke the doors down...they weren't actually let in. So, they could all technically be charged with B&E.

Sue walmart for having a sale?...seriously?? I see what your saying, the people that trampled the guy are also to blame but so is walmart.  Every year I read about people getting hurt in these so called sales. If it was an isolated event it'd be one thing but this shit is just dumb. Walmart and others have people running, kicking and swinging their way to the elmo doll, or really cheap laptop or whatever the hot item is and when someone gets hurt or now killed they get to say "not our fault" gimme a fuckin break. It happens every year and is getting a little more violent with every year that passes. So maybe it's time to think of a new way to do things, or I guess we can expect to lose a few Americans a year to shopping related fatalities. Merry fuckin Christmas kids, your dad is dead because plasma screens are fuckin cheap as hell for the holidays! We were going to have an open casket funeral but we couldn't remove the boot prints from his face.

Well when people get trampled and killed at band venues the place is usually responsable or sued.. If it's found out that they had inadaquate staffing for the event it will be a win for the parties making the lawsuit. If it's found out that everything was up to code, they flip the ticket and read the disclamer on the ticket.
