Hey Ya'll.

I'm a little confused and seeing if anyone ran into the same problem I have.
I have played a few times since the newest patch came out  (1.21).  I have applied
for commander like right at the beginning of the match. And I see that I get the message
"Someone with a higher rank has applied". I understand, I'm not the highest person in the
world, but the both times I got beat out was by someone who has less than 15,000 -20,000 pts
than me.  We are both the same rank, but I am almost double their total score.
Has this happen to anyone else?  Is there something wrong or different I don't know about?

Rank is all that matters when applying for commandership, global score has no bearing. Meaning someone with 20001 points has the same chance as someone with the same rank but 45000 points. Having said that, I've also been beaten out of the commander position by someone 3-4 ranks lower than me on several occasions and I have to speculate that, like most of the game, applying for commander has its own unique bugs.

The commander position is chosen based only on rank (and is random if there are multiple people of the same rank applying...) it does not take into account total score.

i thought if people of the same rank apply it goes on who had the highest score from previous round?

Im pretty sure it just goes with whoever clicked 'apply' first in most cases. The few times I have applied for commander and been beaten out, I had waited a little bit after the start of the round.

Okay, so I'm not entirely sure that it is random, but from what I have seen I couldn't find a specific pattern to it...

Hmmm.... though as a gunnery sgt. i was beaten once for commander by a 1st class pvt.
