Why does Wiliam Jefferson garner little or no scrutiny while Ted Stevens is lambasted and villified?

Good points...  It's definitely not fair, and Jefferson should be ousted.  This is a double standard, no doubt.

Because he's a democrat.... and the liberal media controls everything.  oh wait..

Maybe because

1. Ted Stevens is already convicted

2. The Supreme Court said the FBI F'ed up the search of his stuff.

3. Oh... and he's a represenative.  Not as important as senators tbh.

I think the issues surrounding Jefferson are much like the ones around Tom DeLay.  DeLay ultimately wasn't found guilty of much, but people questioned his ethics.  He remained very popular in his district, but the system basically had to remove him because of his lack of ethics.  I think the same general thing should have been done to Jefferson.
