1 - MGS4
2 - GoW2

I've played most of the other ones listed and none of them come close to these two tbh.

Haven't tried Fallout 3 or GTA4 yet, so they might make it too.

For games in general, I'd say. I'd nominate GTA IV, Fallout 3, and GoW2 for the games of the year I guess, but none of those touch previous GotYs.

1) L4D
2) EvEO (Didn't come out this year, but I started playing again this year )
3) MGS4 (If you can call it a game, and not an interactive movie)

Far Cry 2, would be last? I was actually dissapointed with that game.

The only games from this year I plehed are FC2 and FO3, both most excellent.

I have very high hopes for RA3 also, just played the demo, and it was LEGION.

So basically

FPS: FC2

RPG: FO3

RTS: RA3

I honestly have to say, stacked up against the other games I've played this year, Fallout 3 blows 'em away.

The storyline, the atmosphere, the retro feeling, and just the generally awesome feel to the game totally swept me off my feet.

I'd say Mirror's Edge but I don't get it until Christmas
I never played MGS4, so I replace it with Burnout Paradise, and add GTA:IV.  I can't wait until GTA is released for PC.

FC2 is awesome.  BF:BC was fun, especially with buddies.

Left For Dead is the only certain...

I suppose Grand Theft Auto 4 might make it in. I quite enjoyed Rainbow Six Vegas 2 (had awesome co op).

This is a list just going off games I own or have played. I have yet to play Fallout3, Farcry 2, Crysis Warhead, etc etc etc.

Spore was shit.

If you can, borrow it from a friend rather than buy it. You'll be finished in 2 days easily.

The fps are improved on the original, at the expense of the physics engine quality and high crysis gfx.

The game play goes up a fair bit though, as the koreans don't take 6 shots to kill, and there's some fun vehicle aspects, riding a train and a hovercraft, etc but as a game it doesn't last very long.

I actually 'acquired' it at a LAN last week and installed it last night. I played about 20 minutes and got bored to be honest, but in fairness that wasn't really enough time for me to get a grip on how good a game it is. The novelty of being able to turn invisible wore off after the first few times. I'm sure at some point I'll go back and play some more, but it didn't really grasp me as much as I'd have liked it to for all the hype.

I finished it in around 5 hours . It was damn good though.
