no.  thats not true.  they get a bail out by taxpayers, so we should have a say.
I think he's saying that the Big 3 made shitty decisions that the workers have no input on.  Granted, even that's not true, because unions force them to make certain labor decisions.

In principle, we should have a say in where the bailouts go, but we basically don't because both Obama and McCain supported the first one, and now...  Obama and the upcoming heavily Democratic Congress seem to support this new one.

About the only option is to vote the Democratic Congress out in 2 years, but there's no telling if the Republicans decide to change course after that and support some other bailout (since McCain isn't the only Republican who supports some bailouts).

Our say in this is very limited, but I suppose a few well-placed bullets might truly "change" things.

oh.  then he is an idiot if he thinks the company wants to pay someone 40 bucks to turn a bolt.  thats all unions.  and unions represent the workers.

So lowing,at al, please remember that when you state your opinions.

Thanks
It is the union who stiff arms a company into paying such rediculous salaries and benefits for such rediculously mindless work. Union threated job action again a company is nothing short of holding a company hostage until it gets what it wants.

As for your defense of  "Unregulated and uninterfered capitalism ", well....we had one BIG crash from a unregulated market. The Government response to it was to emplace controls on the market.
Over the last 30 years business "Leaders" have been busy pushing politicians to repeal them, using the mantra "Let the market control it's self." and "We are capable of self-regulation".
Guess in the last 18 months, we've seen how well that worked.
Do you know why we have a housing/credit issue?

Unfettered capitalism leads to boom-bust cycles, as we have seen enough times.

If the corporate managment was less greedy with their own saleries i bet the workers would have been so also ... the greed on the top is usually spreading through the system fast and that is what the unions have profited on ... disgruntled workers are always easier to organize ...

Bollocks.

Perhaps that was the case many years ago, but not anymore. Greed is endemic. People see rich people on the TV spending loads of money and living exorbitant lifestyles and they want that too. It's not like the vast majority of the workers will have any contact whatsoever with senior execs.
