Anyone else watch this show on the History Channel? Last night's episode was talking about the gangs in New Orleans before and after Katrina. I had no clue how bad that place really was. If you get a chance to watch it, do it.
I love that show. I haven't watched it lately because I lost track of when it was on. Really interesting show though.
I saw parts of it...pretty scary stuff. I think the part I saw was the part where the gangs were forced into Houston because of Katrina and got all mad cuz the cops actually tried to catch them...so they went back to NO...then I just saw bits and pieces as I flipped back and forth.
It was interesting but I kept rolling my eyes...

Either I didn't pay enough attention to the news, or the media did a pretty good job of hiding what was actually going on. Houston's murder rate went up 13% in the few months after Katrina, and the murder rates of other cities that people fled to also went up. The 60-day rule is fucking ridiculous; basically, people could kill whoever they wanted and only have to serve 60 days in jail because no witnesses would ever come forward. I knew New Orleans was a rough place, but this episode really puts it in to perspective.tuckergustav wrote:

That plus only 7% of all murder suspects are actually convicted.phishman420 wrote:

Wow, i think they should actually deploy troops into those neighborhoods.
What do you guys think?
I mainly think this because why fight other wars when there is problems in your own country.

Even killing innocent people on foreign soil is less controversial than criminals on our own soil?phishman420 wrote:

Yo I watched that entire thing last night. I always thought New Orleans was that bad. The gangs are fucking ruthless though.phishman420 wrote:

That was a messed up episode. I thought it was funny though when they got there asses handed to them by the other gangs and the Texas law enforcement they hauled ass back to NO.
