The Amero? The American union? One centralized government?

I just the a short clip of the movie zeitgeist on youtube and even though it is a conspiracy movie it has me worried. It has some truth to it but im not sure it could ever happen.

Lulz @ everyone who has posted this (and oddly enough, always links to the website), from Wikipedia:

"In the The Gauntlet, Jordyn Marcellus wrote it was ironic that the film's viewers "have blindly followed the documentary without doing their own research." He states that, though the film is "well-edited and is truly compelling", it "glosses over inconvenient facts," uses "deceptive filmmaking" and that "for a film that rails against deception, there's a lot of deception implicit in its creation."

The main thing that worries me is that we might actually call it the "Amero." That's a horrible name.

The main thing that worries me is that there are people dimwitted enough to believe that tripe.

Grammar, punctuation and sense - they're important.  But not as important as this totally random picture:

So what's wrong with the American Union? It says it's gonna be like the EU, so no loss of sovereignty there, just open boarders which practically already exist with the only country whose people would want to migrate - Mexico! (lol)

The only downside imo is the Amero. Now who the fuck came up with that retarded name. And btw Canada already uses a dollar, and I don't think the Mexicans would have any problem switching currency   So why not stick with that?

I think the concern is it's seen as another step in the direction of one world government.  I mean the EU keeps trying to bring new laws into place to effect the whole continent.  You would assume the same thing happen in north america.   The loss of the constitution, bill of rights etc.

Yes but it is afterall the canadian dollar.

There is a number of things that dictate the value of a currency.  Domestic manufacturing, savings, and fiscal responsibility by the government etc.

We outsource manufacturing to Asia.  Saving is pretty much discouraged, because the government resorts to inflation to bail out those who borrow too much.  Growing debt to keep the economy going, which cant last forever.  Huge debts that rely on china supporting us.

Countrys around the world are getting out of dollars, thus it's loosing it's status as world reserve currency.  As the value goes down, the sentiment of the people to fix the problem will grow.

You couldnt really fix a car that is totalled in a 100mph crash (or perhaps wouldnt).  But you can get the insurance to pay for a new one .

It's a dodgey issue, zeitgeist has an almost a religious following, and it's very easy to get swept into the whole NWO, one world government, book of revelations on crack thing.

We all know America is trillions in debt.

The way this debt will be shrugged off is an Zimbabwe style currency crash.

The dollar will be replaced by the Amero.  America ceases to be a place and becomes an idea. Life goes on.

Be afraid, or don't. Either way, it's coming, and soon.

Good points...  with the way things are headed, it's not like a North American Union would be that different anyway.  We might as well unite with Mexico, because we aren't going to do shit about border security.

Granted, Canada might not like having to deal with the much greater crime rates and poverty levels both America and Mexico have.  If anyone would lose from this arrangement, it would be Canada, not us.

But really, you know what I don't get? Ok so I see how the movie portrays things in a certain "doomish" tone and everything... but - from all those who say that it's deceptive etc - I've never heard anything but negative criticism. Never a rebuttal with facts.

I thought Americans hated big government and centralisation of power. If its anything like the EU you will find major decisions on your future being made by faceless foreigners in another country. If its anything like the EU expect billions of your money to disappear into a bureaucratic hole.

For instance. My local council won't issue me with a recycling bin. Everyone else has one except my area. Apparently I have a bin and its registered in my name. Its sitting in a warehouse somewhere. Its just my council can't afford to send another bin collection my way. Europe thinks I have a bin (lol) so my local council doesn't get fined by Europe. Fucking crazy. That's a minor example of what to expect.

People have rarely wilfully entered opression.  It's almost always disguised under promises of bliss and prosperity.  You can argue the same with religion, give us moneys and you will go to heaven etc.  The comunists did the exact same thing, big promises and ultimately failure, atleast, for the people.

It's the scope for abuse though, is where I think the concern really comes from.  Little acountability.  If there was a global military, it would go totally unchallenged.  Therefor, keeping the peace would rest on the morals of a few men, rather than the threat of mutal destruction that exists now.

Id be worried that the American union, European union, African union and soon to be Asian union all merge into a one world government. There are very powerful ppl who want it.

We can only hope Chavez succeeds in creating a socialist paradise so we can all move there./sarcasim

Stop saying "We might as well unite with Mexico, they are already flooding in to America". We should be wanting to end the illegal immigration, not just call it legal. To the fucking back country if need be.

The only way that's gonna happen is if we consistently prosecute employers of illegals.

As long as there are people willing to employ illegals, they will keep coming.

Zeitgeist or any of the current crop of conspiracy films weren't made to tell you the future. It has inaccuracies just like any other documentary, though probably fewer than many of those that actually make it into the mainstream (i.e., Michael Moore).

The take away message from the third part of Zeitgeist is that our economic system is very well suited to centralized control and that our government, republican or democrat, endorses globalism and the erosion of personal freedom. It isn't an ideal film, but the take away message is probably more valuable than anything you've seen in the corporate media in recent years.
