So I guess experience as the first lady is going to be key in solving all of economic problems?TheAussieReaper wrote:
So much for change. Picking Clinton's former staff + Hillary isn't that refreshing, but I think his hand has been forced with the economic situation. You need experience in the White House key positions at a time like this.
Is that the excuse of record then? The economic crisis is justification for picking a person who has no experience with economic matters to a position that has no impact on economic matters, on the basis that picking a person whose entire political resume was being elected (twice) to a senatorial seat in a state she had never even lived in prior to running for office there is the sort of experience needed in key positions during these troubled times?TheAussieReaper wrote:

...I just want to be sure we are on the same page here. Also, is 'the economic crisis' going to be the catch phrase the way '9/11' was a catch phrase for George Bush?

I was referring to picking Bill Clinton's former staff when I was talking about experience in key positions. Note the positions is plural for a start.imortal wrote:

I think Hilary Clinton has sweet fuck all experience when it comes to anything other than yelling about glass ceilings and doing what Bill whispers in her ear.
As for the economic crisis as a catch phrase, even if it isn't it should be.
That is the greatest threat to the lives and welfare of Americans now, and from most estimates 18months or more into the future.
I'm not happy with most of the picks, hence why I said "so much for change".

Okay, fair enough. I just could not resist a jab at Hillary. Picking Clinton's former staff could easily be seen as a safe bet, but does not fit in too well with his "Change" motif; in that you are correct. I think the last year has been some of the worst times; this bailout is an idea that sickens me to my core. I would vastly prefer 5 or 7 years of a 'depression.' At least we would come out of it in a better position and more solidly as a nation. This bailout routine is a bass-ackwards form of nationalization (it seems to me). I see this as getting nothing but worse.TheAussieReaper wrote:

So, how is our national debt going again? Still hoping that Obama is going to lower taxes?
