BF2S Forums [Half-Life's Combine] One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest...

I reckon it's very likely that One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest is where Valve got the idea for the name for their Combine, it can't really be considered a coincidence.  The staff at the mental institution in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's nest were referred to as the Combine because of the mechanic way they processed people. Same can be said for the Half-Life Combine, although with Half-Life there is also the fact that they operate by "combining" synthetic organisms with machinery. The key difference is only really the fact that in Half-Life the name seems official while in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest it's just a name given to them by the Chief.
