Hunting from choppers is pro. Always wanted to try that. Only way to get a licence for semi-auto rifles up here in the NT is to be using them for that purpose.

No dude, hunting from a low flying helicopter is one of the most extreme things you can do.

I've seen footage of kiwi deer hunters from the golden age of hunting there. They were cracking off four shots from a semi auto at over 300ms from the deer. Moving chopper and moving deer and each shot would drop a deer. Bloody phenomenal in their heyday, the old kiwi deer hunters. Thing was, if a deer hunter wasn't droping like 2 deer in a minute using only 1 bullet per deer then he wasn't economically viable to hire. I know two of the fellas who were involved in this industry personally and watched a few docos on it... fucking amazing.

I'll check the youtubes but I don't think so. It was on VHS so I can't even rip it to the PC and upload.

Getting a few hits on youtube but some of the quality is a joke. So are some of the shooters.
