no it is not ghetto. i didnt say i would be laughing. but it has to be done.
I guess. I suppose it's going to happen sooner or later, so it might as well be sooner and save the tax payer some money.
Good.

They will adapt. They should have been clued in earlier though. There is a one year waiting list here in the US to get one of those smart cars. They might be ugly (as in golf cart ugly), but we are dealing with some serious shit now. We've got to change the way we look at our automobiles immediately. No choice.

GM is saying that Chapter 11 isn't an option. They say it's all or nothing. I think that is crap, they just want to get some of the payday that's going around, and they are gambling on the government thinking they are too big to allow them to go under. Chapter 11 is the best thing they could do. They could still operate, but the bankruptcy court would give them ability to force the UAW to negotiate a new contract that isn't quite as generous, while also giving them time to restructure so they can become competitive.
If they go down they have themselves to blaim, the signals for what type of cars the public wants have been visible for quite some time and the big 3 have ignored them ... i feel sorry for the workers if it happens ...
Not so sure some other brand will move in on the situation either ...

People get Toyotas.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

what would happen if the big 3 go down?...............i guess we'd have a new big three.
Agreed I though more people could put 2 and 2 together. It would just be toyota, honda and VW/Porsche/audi/seat/bently/bugatti/skoda the GM replacement.DrPeePeeFace wrote:

Estimates range from 2-3 million jobs and $150-175 billion in tax revenue lost over three years.
Plus the continued loss of tax revenue from those jobs and sales beyond three years.

I give exception for the military, but in the main unskilled (i use that term lightly) jobs should be the bottom of the pay bracket.

So paying someone with some piss ant qualifications to sit around "managing" people more money than a guy that does the real work don't make sense.FatherTed wrote:
