jeez I need to play Gears 1 ..... I keep meaning to rent it but of course never got around to it
yeah multiplayer is fun, except they really toned down the shotgun a ton, lancer is soooo over powering nowPoseidon wrote:
This game is fucking amazing. Really.
Gears 1 with better gameplay, better graphics, better weapons and everything that a true sequel should have.
I've been playing Co-Op with a friend and we're halfway through Act 2. It's absolutely incredible so far.
Nearly finished the game on Co-Op with my little bro.Poseidon wrote:

It gets a LOT better than Act 2. Goes pretty nuts at Act 4. Shit goes crazy.
Whoa... Can't believe these forums are still kicking.
Awesome. When I get off work I'm going to play it. Im not to far from the begginning. I have a lot of game time ahead of me.Flecco wrote:

Finished on Hardcore. Watch until the end of the credits. Also, train Carmine, the discussion that takes place during training is cool.
Not sure if there will be a sequel. A lot of plot threads still to tie up but at the same time... Well lets just say they are ambiguous pricks, not like Bungie. I'd say Gears of War 2 has officially just dethroned the Master Chief permenantly. Gears 2's campaign is far better than Halo's. I did play the whole thing co-op though, which probably added to the value of it.
What follows really are spoilers k, so don't read if you aren't around halfway through the campaign already.
Spoiler (highlight to read):
Ben Carmine died, which makes that an official running gag tbh. Probs happen to the other Carmines. Anybody else think his death wasn't as funny this time around, kinda disappointed he didn't make it tbh. Same with Tai, he was a mad character, pity they killed him off.

is the multiplayer any good?

Its more of the same, but never have i felt more satisfied with this a multiplayer since bf2.
Horde mode is great when you want to mess around and have fun
While the multiplayer makes the games really competitive.
The executions are funny as hell, while the game still keeps a good balance of most weapons.
Must buy most definitely
This game is still fucking .
Spoiler (highlight to read):
The chapter where you're inside the worm is fucking hilarious and so fucking gory at the same time. Cutting through the arteries/membrane/etc is so great. Then the final scene when you cut through the worm and the blood comes pouring out made me lol so hard.

I just got past the part where you have to kill the three corpsers with the Centaur cannon. That was seeing them explode like that.
tip play horde on river, and have everyone in the sniper house, when the guys with the shields come kill them and plant the shield in the doorway so the big mo fo's cant get through, and you just mow them down like cattletrackstarr wrote:

Haven't announced anything yetlxcpikiman wrote:

Doesn't sound like it will since the there wasn't as many PC people buying the first gears in comparison to the 360
I have to try that.CosmoKramer wrote:

Ive been busy playing mainly campaign that i haven't even played all of the multiplayer maps.
I just beat it... The last part was fun. The whole thing was fun, but I heard they paid some comic book writer to write the story or something... They got ripped off if that's true.
It's not. Cliffy B (aka Dude Huge) has stated that it won't be.trackstarr wrote:

There's a reason Gears never explains any important plot points.Home wrote:

Riding that Brumak was the most fun I have had in a long time with a videogame. Truly epicness.(ok, not a word but yea, it was that great.)Home wrote:

Edit: The end was a little odd though.

Gg, way to spoil one of the best setpieces in the game for everybody.
As far as I can see, the end, and the rest of the game's plot, is typical Gears. They don't explain shit to the player because the player is meant to be a foot soldier.

Awesome campaign, but way too short. Finished it in 2 days.
Spoiler (highlight to read):
Beast riding was fun. Brumak riding felt like riding an AT-AT from Star Wars. Reaver riding felt like the Imperial Speeder Bikes.
Anyone thought that the Hollow depth wasn't deep at all?
Sigh... Queen escapes again. Skorge wasn't necessarily killed. The Imulsion felt like the Flood from Halo.
I'm disappointed in the Horde mode. They were selling that as if you were going to be overwhelmed with at least a hundred or so Locusts. Not this in phases shit.

They are called the Lambent, and yeah, while they are reminiscent of any mutant zombie style bad guy in any game, they are a cool concept and are tied in with my suspicions on the origins of the Locust Horde.

Wow just finished the story and that was one of the best campaigns Ive played in a while.
Ending spoilers VV
Spoiler (highlight to read):
That last parts of the game really make you feel unstoppable. Riding the Brumak and completely destroying the hollow right below is wicked. And once they give you the hammer of dawn in that chopper . The end makes you wonder whats going to happen next. Or how the rest of the locust would look like fully transformed from the immulsion (Especially the Giant worm).
Now that the game is done, time to rank up in multiplayer. And possibly go through campaign again on insane

Yeah but Epic didn't even port the first Gears. People Can Fly did. They might port it. Also Microsoft (who pwn the rights) are the ones to make that decision, not Epic. If MS wants a port, there will be a port.Poseidon wrote:
