Yea, I have the tenancy to do that sometimes. At least it shows that I'm looking for the correct answer rather than blindly following the one that fits some ideology. In this case, coal does need to be taxed for the pollution it spews into the atmosphere, which is more than twice the weight of the coal itself.ATG wrote:

The free market is supposed to kill off the weak, leaving the strong I thought.
Anyway he didn't say he would bankrupt the whole industry, just anyone dumb enough to build a new conventional coal facility.
Although it would make sense to replace some of the old, horribly inefficient stations with shiny new ones, at least until (if ever) clean coal technology can be developed.
