During 57 sessions, from July 2004 to April 2005, at New England Sinai Hospital and Rehabilitation Center, Nagle learned to open simulated e-mail, draw circular shapes using a paint program on the computer and play a simple video game, "neural Pong," using only his thoughts

This was on 60 minutes tonight and I couldn't fucking believe it.

They also said they had a monkey that moved a robotic arm to get stuff for it with nothing but its thoughts! Imagine the posibilities.

Imagine all the diseased and wounded that could be helped by this! Robotic arms for soldiers?

On a fun note: What if i could have a pet robot that i could control with my mind, and i could have it go to the fridge and get me a beer?

@ Reciprocity; I know a dude who's older bro is a few years off entering one of Australia's nanotech labs at a uni via a scholarship from said uni. Reckons the biggest difficulty they have in realising the technology is being able to build the tools to make nanotechnology. Kinda like a Russian doll, only backwards, build tools to build smaller tools to build smaller tools to build smaller tools to build smaller tools to build smaller tools to build smaller tools etc. etc.

Edit: Guess Panda knows more than me. I havent spoken to that dude I know about his bro for two years now so........

I was reading their quartly reports and as of now they arn't making any money and it says they don't see themselves paying out dividends anywhere in the near future. But its a cheap stock and if you could take the risk on them and take the time I bet when dividends pump out you would be loaded.

Ummm, actually has already happened. You could say it wasn't DIRECTLY controlled by his brain but by the nerve impulses it made to move the limb.

The guy was paralyzed and now can walk. Well, in a simple form anyways.

Give it time, most cools things sucked and had few practical applications when they were first built. Look at the first computer or the first car or the first plane.

Thats cool man. Unfortunately, the company who does this is screwed from lack of funding and two of their board of directors resigned today and thier stock took a hit so their capital is lacking and their probably going to be bankrupt from lack of capital soon. ):
