Vehicles dont make bad game, neither does WW2.
CoD4 engine isnt inherently bad, just how it has been used thus far.
CoD5 will be terrible, without doubt though.
How was the bad side superior to good? It seemed to make little difference to me, bar getting that awesome bow from Temple of Skorm.
Far Cry 2 is on the Crysis engine right? I didn't say it was new.

How many games have had WW2 as a theme? Seriously, how many iterations of WW2 have there been since the late 90's in video games?
Im not saying its bad, im just dissapointed that a dirty, dirty company (Treyarch) have decided to rip something off an established and well-made game.
Did you ever play through the whole game? I remember my mate played it day after day after day, and no matter how far he got with 2 seperate characters, the evil one was always superior. Might be a bit foggy, it was on the original xbox.

I dont like the WW2 setting at all. Doesnt mean that the game is bad period though. But yes, it wont help. I mean you would think that even with the game ebing based on previous events we know the details too that Treyarch could get it accurate, but from the perks and shit...i guess not.

It's more fun running about in Fable2 doing random shit than it is in Oblivion. Funnier world with far more interaction.
On to your question; errrrr... Yeah so far with my first character I've killed a wife, been divorced by a second and cbf getting another. I have a little orphan running about somewhere and I'm a carrier for two STDs apparently. I'm a 'good' guy. Got the halo and kept high 'purity' so my guy looks like Aragorn + blonde hair + victorian clothes + pistols/rifle. Dog turned yellow yesterday. In combat I'm having a great time with the guns. Pretty hilarious blowing heads off with a rapid-fire pistol/blunderbuss/'turrent rifle'. Over and over and over. The focus is less on surviving and more on having the perfect fight; where all the bad pricks die and you don't get scratched. It does top the first game by a mile and has some pretty awesome 'holyshit' moments in it but I can't help feeling that maybe 2-3 extra months to iron all the minor graphical bugs out/fix the fucked menus (which are bloody horrible) might have helped this game a fair bit. Am a decent bit into the story, perhaps 2/3 of the way through and I've spent a lot of time as a henchman for my little brother's character (using a second hero... we basically loot and pillage constantly and he's around 1/3rd of the way into the story).
Pretty excellent though. Most fun I've had on the xbox for a bit. Which is saying something considering the games I own, which is basically over half of what are considered the best 360 games across the board.
THE BOTTOM LINE:
Fable 2 is the game Fable should have been and yet it is still held back by the technology it is built on. Lionhead's awesome ambition still seems restrained. Roll on a next gen Fable!
Oh and it has the best voice acting ever. EVER. Ron Glass and STEPHEN FUCKING FRY FFS.
Get Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway if you are a ww2 history nut, pretty fucking epic too.
Am I the only Aussie here who knows who Stephen Fry is? It just ocured to me that the amount of exposure I've had to British TV/film/pop culture might make me the only person who understands the credibility somebody like Fry brings to video games.

Cod4 is incredibly big, surprisingly it got into WCG while games like CSS didn't.

And sorry tim, i thought it was on the Crysis engine. what i mean by modern is that its a NORMAL human, with with NORMAL skills (cept maybe taking a bullet out with a knife like hes done it before) and without being able to run into some camp without consequences.
Im not ripping on Crysis, im just glad that a game is finally coming out that is a free-roaming FPS.

I think youll find that most teams rarely 'prac' in the CoD series, instead youll find teams playing scrims almost every night. Also, yeah, you dont need to aim in CoD4, basically because every man and his keyboard rolls out with an AK.
