That's really weird. They can name the date of the crisis, but not what it is. It sounds economic too.

What? The interviewer said the date, not Powell. And Jan 21st is the day after the inauguration.

Exactly. I was meant somewhat figuratively.

No he didn't. Powell said "There's going to be a crisis come along on the 21st or 22nd of January that we don't even know about right now."

The interviewer asked what Powell would advise the President to do after the 21st.

I think he was just making the point that govts have to deal with unexpected crises every day and the day after the inauguration will be no different.

That or the Illuminati have chosen January 21st  for Israel to attack Iran safe in the knowledge that Obama won't intervene either way and Cheney will already be in his invisible spaceship travelling at hyperspeed to Rigel 7 to make his report.

Take your pick, either is just as likely.
Fuck Israel

The interviewer said it first.  Powell was just continuing from what the interviewer said, about how there would probably be a crisis in the future. Just badly phrased perhaps.

Exactly, Tommy boy... threw out a hypothetical, which are usually stupid, and Powell responded with a hypothetical.

My son constantly asks me, hypothetically, how would I manage this or that, physically, if I had stump-arms? Joe the American-idiot should pose that same question to either candidate. Which should be a "new rule," if you can't work in stump-arms into the hypothetical you should not pose it in the first place. [/serious only if you think I am]
