This week Wall Street Journal took a look at Barack Obama's tax plan.

The WSJ is not exactly objective. That's why I read it everyday .

Maybe not objective...but are they accurate?

Did anyone think that a Democrat wouldn't seek to expand welfare?

It's the spin. A one sided presentation does not equate to inaccuracy. When you report on only a portion of the facts involved it influences the reader in an unfair manner. It's up to the reader to figure it out though. Those who complain about fairness in an obvious oped piece are children.

Obama is proposing to create or expand a slew of government spending programs that are disguised as tax credits
That's good news, the sly ole dog. Increase in govt. building projects should create many jobs and stimulate the economy somewhat, and disguising them as tax credits? Genius.

I prefer Obama over McCain, but even I'd favor cutting government spending over increasing it.

We need to pay down the national debt, but that's not the sort of thing that gets votes.

No I agree fully with you, that Govt. spending needs to be reigned in, but building projects do create jobs and keep employment rates high.

When you want to stimulate an economy, the best way is to cut your spending in useless areas, but keep spending or increase in spending in areas that provide jobs and job growth.

FDR was able to do that sort of thing, and it would work to a point nowadays as well....   We definitely need to cut military spending.  Phasing out SS wouldn't hurt either.
