In audio settings tryed to turn x-fi on with ultra high but a message appeared saying that my hardware was incapable.
So I
1. disabled onboard sound
2. Reinstalled BF2
3. Reinstalled Soundcard driver

and now when i select x-fi and ultra high and click apply the system hangs.

i no theres been ALOT of issues with the X-fi settings but i can't find much on what is happening to me

any ideas?

Can you set modes like Entertainment or Gaming if you can then set it to gaming mode. If you cant then: http://support.creative.com/kb/ShowArti … ?sid=10607

OS? Make sure you have the current drivers. The drivers that come with that card do not work in vista what so ever.
New Creative X-Fi Drivers.

check and see if you have any bios updates.  my evga mobo had a bios update that fixed some x-fi problems.
