- What do u need to have in order to choose Ultra High audio quality??
Erm, speakers?
lol sorry, just a semi-decent EAX enabled Sound card i think. Anything in the Creative Audigy range or better wont have any problems

ONLY the creative X-FI series can run Ultra high quality, none of the others in the range.sausage wrote:

I use that one as its got 64 meg of RAM on it the other 2 cards that will even give u the option for ultra high are:
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Music <-- cheap and nasty, will effect P.C. performance in a big way on ultra high quality.
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Elite Pro <<--- which is more geared to home entertainment.
OK I guess it's only for the big guys... I'll stay with the lame High quality lol.
Can you just tell me what enable EAX in Audio settings change?
What happens with High-Disable EAX and High-Enable EAX?

It explains what EAX etc is pretty well.
The differences I have noticed in game for example, on high quality, If I fire a grenade at the wall, I hear the grenade hit the wall and the explosion etc. On ultra high quality sound, If a fire a grenade at the same wall, I hear the grenade hit the wall the explosion etc, then I hear all the individual pieces of plaster blown off the wall hitting the ground all round me. Pretty neat I have to say lol.
In high quality the game only used 64 "voice channels" to produce the sound. In Ultra High its got 128 to play with and remember the card has 64 meg of ram to process it and a chip = to pentium 4 3.6 onboard too.
If u can get some money together for one, its well worth it

I've noticed US gamers are 20+ but I'm only 15 and I don't feel good about spending my parents' money.
Maybe in the future, or if I'll finda consumer for my present sound system!
Ask for $$$ or parts for your b-day, get a summer job, wash cars, sell old stuff, etc.
Im from Ireland, but ah well, :pmorbesso666 wrote:

If you really want to hear sound, i would recommend getting a good headset preferably usb.. i have a high end sound card but hear more with my headset than i ever did with my speakers plus if you dont have a sound card the usb comes with a built in sound decoder
Wrong, i have a Xtreme Music card and have it on ultra high, no preformance effects in any way.-fe.lep- wrote:
