This is insane.

The Asian markets just took a truly amazing battering today. The Nikkei was down over 9 percent!. Jakarta was down ten as well, Hong Kong is down 8, and Australia is down about 5% even after the respective central banks announced a 1% interest rate cut (and bear in mind, please, that in Australia the economy really is actually fairly strong, the banks are good and we're coming out of a period of high inflation)

Insane.

Jakarta if completely ballsed up at the moment. It might not even upon tomorrow. lol Japan has been dropping for awhile now, likely to be in recession. China is starting to feel more pressure and slowed growth is expected for next year.

China will just keep motoring on. The financial crisis isn't affecting how fast they build things, is it?

No but it will effect how fast people buy the things that they build. But realistically they will suffer some drop in growth, but it wont be terminal for their economy.

Yeah, I'm glad my bank is a Chicom bank (Hong Kong Shanghai Banking Corporation, HSBC). I don't have much to worry about. I guarantee you if Midlands never merged with the Chicoms they'd be fucked like some of the other UK/US banks.

no, i dont think that will be the case.

i could be wrong, but there is going to be a lot of volume today....all the bargain hunters.

i wouldnt be surprised if we saw a big jump today.
like, in the market....not brokers out the windows
