Yeah, it's called Stealth. Crysis still had the best AI of any game thus far. Hopefully FC2 will change that.Commie Killer wrote:

Correct me if I'm wrong but what you seem to be saying here is "I loved game A therefore I want game B to be pretty much the same thing." Maybe the title is a bit ambiguous, a person sees a game title they know with a number on the end of it they expect at very least the same characters. Hell with CoD4 set at least sixty years after the others you still saw old Captain Price from World War 2 with the same impressive-yet-inappropriate facial hair.Miggle wrote:

Seems to me that because you have been initially mislead, (thus scourned,) by the game and you now have no interest in Far Cry 2. Is that a fair analysis?
Now I realise that tastes differ but when I see a game that apparently has a wicked and, (fairly,) non-linear story, as much freedom as one can reasonably expect for a game to have, all wrapped up in a display of truly stunning visuals... what is there not to love? I realise the original Far Cry was good and one would expect a sequel to add to what has already been done instead of moving it several thousand miles to a different continent all the while expecting the fans of the first one to just go along with it like brainless sheep. But even if you changed FC2's name to "Dirt Factory 12: Extreme Edition" and took away any relationship to Far Cry the first and it's raggedy band of mutant things you'd still be looking at a pretty fucking kick-arse game.
So what's the deal-eo yo?

well I would prefer a sequel to be, well, a sequel.. (A literary, dramatic, or cinematic work whose narrative continues that of a preexisting work.)Ty wrote:

Imagine there was a great movie several years ago, and this year there's a sequel coming out. But this sequel has no characters from the original, completely different setting, completely different plotline, different director, different everything, and is clearly going off the success of it's predecessor. If it's good, why does it need to be named after something that was nothing like it?
and the second part of my sentence was that I'm hardly impressed. Sure it's non-linear, but plenty of games are... sure it has good graphics, but I can just go get crysis. I don't like having guns explode, though I am impressed by damaged weapons, which reminds me of SS2 (which I love.) and I'm not impressed by the hype. I'm not impressed by the developers constantly saying "It's better than oblivion" or "xbox 360 will have equally good graphics with PC"
Sure, I'll probably download it, maybe even end up buying it, but right now I'm not planning to spend $50 when I could just keep playing FC1, SS2, and Deus Ex.

Bump. Here's a nice MP preview:

Pre-ordered the game after reading this. Sounds like my kind of multiplayer. None of that twitch BS.The first thing that strikes you about the gameplay itself is the pace, or rather lack thereof. Your character moves and turns as though encumbered with emphatically non-virtual flesh, which makes it hard to beat the odds through sheer dexterity. If you're caught side-on by a prepared opponent, you'll be dead before you see the muzzle flash, so think again if you plan on circle-strafing to victory.
That's also awesome, nice that they're going down a realistic route and also bringing it into MP. It should flush out the noobs pretty fastRushing into buildings is a definite no-no, as the dynamic lighting simulates the lag before your pupils dilate, and you'll want to take advantage of brilliant little touches like the volatile ammunition stores - watching an adversary in dire need of a rearm flee under a hail of exploding rounds is satisfying to say the least.
mp sounds cool but i doubt ill hardly play it if sp is going to be as awsm as i think
I hated the multiplayer and single player of the last game, but this looks sickSamTheMan:D wrote:

It was okish. They did use tactics but they were limited in what they could do. It was good when a helicopter would flush you out of a hut by completely destroying it with rockets but the AI never seemed to want to find cover or make themselves less likely to get hit. In Far Cry the enemies would move from cover to cover and give covering fire. It's those sort of things I want to see in AI.DoctaStrangelove wrote:

Far Cry 2 and Midnight Club: LA are coming out on the same day
Motorstorm 2 coming out 4 days later.
So many games, such little time.
I'll probably get Far Cry 2. Then I'll choose between Motorstorm 2 and MC:LA depending on the general reception. I'll probably get Motorstorm 2, as PS3 exclusives always have that higher quality/clean finish than multiplat games

Nah, for October, it's only Dead Space (although I'm contemplating getting Motorstorm instead)-LBP-Fallout 3 and Far Cry 2.
No RA3 for me.

also, I switched my pre-order from 360 to PC. Fallout 3/Dead Space will now be my 360 games of this month, Motorstorm and LBP will be my PS3 games, and Far Cry 2 will be my PC game.
I'm guessing it's for the UK/EU or something. Not the US. Make sure you're in the right country (look at the left sidebar)Poseidon wrote:
