I was wondering if you might be able to help me.  I've been looking through the all the game files looking for the rank/awards/etc icons and have noticed for the most part that they are shown as *.png, but contain a DDS header, which generally makes them unreadable by normal means...

Would you be willing to share how you converted/obtained the images and if so how??

rename png to dds then convert to png works for me.

While I haven't actually tried converting with it, I know it reads the DDS format;

DDS Converter 2.1

I think I got it from a Elite Force mod site, simply search for it, you should be able to track it down...

There is also a dds plugin for photoshop which will read them normally.

That's a good point, to that end also check

[url]http://doom3.filefront.com/file/;29052[/url] or [url]http://eliteforce2.filefront.com/file/;29412[/url] for the DDS Converter (these are taken from the readme, so it might have moved)

Sorry to wake up an old thread but I have installed this and the awards come into Photoshop as just black squares.
Any idea what I'm doing wrong or what I should do to get it right?
