Heres a quote from the guy that actually did it.
"after the password recovery was reenabled, it took seriously 45 mins on wikipedia and google to find the info, Birthday? 15 seconds on wikipedia, zip code? well she had always been from wasilla, and it only has 2 zip codes (thanks online postal service!)
the second was somewhat harder, the question was “where did you meet your spouse?” did some research, and apparently she had eloped with mister palin after college, if youll look on some of the screenshits that I took and other fellow anon have so graciously put on photobucket you will see the google search for “palin eloped” or some such in one of the tabs.
I found out later though more research that they met at high school, so I did variations of that, high, high school, eventually hit on “Wasilla high” I promptly changed the password to popcorn and took a cold shower… "
I didn't say anything about how easy or difficult it is access that information, I merely said that your attitude would probably not be so uncaring or cavalier if it were your account that was broken into.ghettoperson wrote:

I heard that she used her private account to conduct transactions for official business. You would think that she would use a government provided email. (I don't have the source, but I heard it on the local news.)steelie34 wrote:

Funny, The questions asked in PW recovery are always shit people could just look up if they wanted to. Either that or the answer can't be more than a handfull of answers. Might as well just remember your effing PW.
Sure, I really couldn't give a fuck about it happening to to a VP candidate, whereas I would obviously be somewhat irritated if it happened to me. Are you saying you're genuinely upset on her behalf? Frankly, I think she's incredibly stupid for trusting a commercial email provider with potentially confidential information.SenorToenails wrote:

No, I'm not genuinely upset on her behalf, but I also don't take the 'it's online, get used to it' attitude.ghettoperson wrote:

Stupid on her part? Yes. Should she have to worry about some fuckwit breaking into her email? No.
I shouldn't have to worry about getting mugged when I walk around in bad parts of town, but it comes with the territory.SenorToenails wrote:

Is Yahoo Mail really the 'bad parts of town'?ghettoperson wrote:

I meant the internet as a whole tbh.
The stupid ones are the ones who hacked it, they are going to have the Secret Service and the FBI crashing down on them. FBI Cyber Crimes has some of the best hackers in the world working for them. Dudes going to be paying WoW and have the SWAT team kick his door in and snatch his ass up.
Doubt it, with something like Tor you're pretty safe, which they'll presumably have done if they had any common sense at all. But since the 'hack' involved looking up the date she met her husband on Wikipedia, I suppose it's possible they had absolutely no knowledge of such things.SgtHeihn wrote:

FBI uses Carnivore to scan e-mails: "OMG INVASION OF PRIVACY"
Anonymous hacks Palin's e-mail account: "HAHA BITCH HAD IT COMING"
Anonymous hacks Palin's e-mail account: "HAHA BITCH HAD IT COMING"

I am really not into US politics as you have voted for such fucktards in the past. However this Obama guys looks promising, and you fags don't vote for him just because he is black, shame on you you nation of fat fucktards, shame on you.

Yep. I hate Palin as much as the next anti-McCain person, but this person is ROYALLY FUCKED.SgtHeihn wrote:

She isn't radical, but maybe have it like a password like "Ihave5kids" or something like that if they didn't use the secret wordZimmer wrote:

The majority of American bf2s members are for Obama, I however am not because he sounds like a retard. If you seriously heard some of his comments you would think him as an idiot, and I don't mind blacks.100% Irishpride wrote:

I know, a lot of fancy words with some reasoning behind them sounds retarded (and you're right, since its not normal to see a politician with such an ability).War Man wrote:

As for the sample e-mails, rather than bolstering the contention that Palin uses private e-mail to avoid possible public scrutiny of official business, at first blush they actually seem indicative of her dutifully separating Alaska business from Alaska and national politics. Both samples are overtly political in nature, which, based on my admittedly limited understanding of the law in this area, make them inappropriate when using government resources.
She's downright evil, I tell you.The hacker said that he read all of the e-mails in the Palin account and found "nothing incriminating, nothing that would derail her campaign as I had hoped. All I saw was personal stuff, some clerical stuff from when she was governor…. And pictures of her family."
Evil.
EEEEEVILLLLL.
Here's a supposed account from the guy who did it. Of note:
That last word there means "against the law" in layman's terms. The simplicity of the attack, of course, makes it no less illegal.
It's not like she posted nekkid pics of herself on a "private" myspace page or something--this was a personal e-mail account. Multiple courts have ruled that there is a "reasonable expectation of personal privacy"--even on government networks (where you have to expressly acknowledge monitoring).

Funny. Too bad there wasn't anything incriminating.
These guys were a bunch of noobs though, remember that bf2s member......russ.spetznaz, who posted screenshots of himself playing bf2 but he didn't realise all his hacks were turned on and so was caught out pretty easily, same here, sort of:
Also what the f-pile is she doing still using Yahoo anyway. At the very least, she should've got rid of it when she became a VP nominate. She's also a noob for using noob email passwords and services.
Internet noobs all round.
I haven't used that word in a long time.
