1 of 1 Governor of Alaska - the 2005 gross state product was $39.9 billion >>> 1 of 100 Senators (most of the time running for president btw) as a member of the Foreign Relation's commitee
Let me remind you that Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter where governors of a 'small states' too...didn't stop them from being president.
What major bills have Senator Obama done in the Senate? Biden has a long history of accomplishments...why isn't the ticket reversed?
The more the Democrats attack Sarah Palin and the media throws fuel on the fire the more people will gravitate to her and boost the Republican ticket.
Sarah Palin in on the path of being the Ronald Reagan in lipstick.
This is what I had heard, I hadn't seen any lists. That description, if true, is concerning enough for me. It is in no way a mayor's job to censor library books. Fixing potholes? sure. Building parks? yep. Banning books? not really.Anchorage Daily News wrote:
Back in 1996, when she first became mayor, Sarah Palin asked the city librarian if she would be all right with censoring library books should she be asked to do so.
Look into it though. You will see why and where the rumor originated from.Reciprocity wrote:

What concerns me isn't the fact that she banned books, because she apparently didn't. What I don't like is that it even popped into her head.
Hmmm, I'm mayor, I wonder if I can censor library books?
This is in no way a mayor's job. It shouldn't have even been considered, much less discussed.

And that, sadly, is the truth. Best to let things be, and then people will remember why they were so eager for Obama in the first place. The more the Democrats attack Sarah Palin and the media throws fuel on the fire the more people will gravitate to her and boost the Republican ticket.
The world would be a bad place if we started hanging people on the basis of thoughts. What I don't like is that it even popped into her head.

I never suggested hanging her, but the fact that she not only considered the move but discussed it with the librarian say a lot about her character. and her potential disregard of the 1st amendment.Spark wrote:

But she never did. It was started by a librarian before she took office and after Palin had requested her resignation. It's total BS. It's almost an exact copy-and-paste reproduction of a generic list of “Books Banned at One Time or Another in the United States” that has been floating around the Internet for years.Reciprocity wrote:

Exactly. And the Obama campaign has learned it too, thank god.Spark wrote:

well the times did endorse clinton, so they lost. now they feel stupid and are bitter. at least the NY post endosed obama.nukchebi0 wrote:

Figure of speech. I reckon that this isn't that important - what's more important is how she dealt with said 'thought'.Reciprocity wrote:

After all,
What does the VP actually do?

I have to admit I was skeptical of Palin when I first heard about her nomination to be VP. Today, I couldnt be happier that McCain picked such a no nonsense, intelligent, robust, well put together candidate to represent our party.
The Democrats seem to enjoy shooting themselves in the foot CONSTANTLY! If Obama picked Hillary as his running mate, this election would be over. . . . Yet he selected one of the most liberal Senators in the Senate (aside from himself) to be his running mate. I am sooooooooo glad America has awoken to his "smoke and mirror" bullshit campaign. The heartland of America knows that Obama is full of shit, and I CANT WAIT to watch him stutter all over himself in the debates and look like even more of a fool.
McCain/Palin 08' baby!!! Palin is cute as she is put together!!! Love this chick!

Don't worry, the Dems would still try their utmost to lose either way.If Obama picked Hillary as his running mate, this election would be over

No credit for the quote Spark??? lolSpark wrote:

I mean the Dems were split down the middle on these two candidates, it only makes sense to have them both on the ticket. Palin is going to THUNDER Joe Biden in the VP debate, and Obama is going to look soft and nervous against a vet like McCain in their debate. Obama is using the slogan "change" to further his personal career, McCain is using his career to promote change. McCain has ALWAYS been a moderate and not towed the company line. Obama is a left wing liberal (just look at his voting record) Senator who hasnt done a god damn thing in Congress, and expects us to just anoint him president. Its obnoxious really. . . . . I'm not buying it, and America is FINALLY wising up to his bullshit!

fadedsteve dude... smoke and mirror campaign... hahahaha
You openly contradict both common logic and yourself in your post, yet you still say the Dems are running a campaign of "smoke and mirrors".
Maybe you're the one smoking and looking into a mirror yourself? I mean, lets face it, 80 percent of all politics is smoke and mirrors. Anyone can say anything they want all the time.
example -- you say America "is finally wising up to this bullshit" when Obama hasn't even won yet (and has never had much of a lead in the polls). Reminds me of when your at a red light, and the car next to you is pulling up, but it looks like your going backwards. You are spewing the same bullshit as O'Reilly and Limbaigh yet at the same time pretend to be a part of mainstream America.
To quote yourself,

Considering Palin's interviewing abilities as showcased so far, I don't see how she is going to be an effective opponent.
Yeah. Makes perfect sense to come to that conclusion after one interview.nukchebi0 wrote:

Actually she does better at the interview process than Obama who stammers and studders. This is a huge difference between his awesome speeches. No wonder he want to have Lincoln-Douglas style debates. McCain does very well at town hall meetings, although he does have some gaffs (i.e. 'Bomb-bomb-bomb bomb-bomb Iran' comment he made).nukchebi0 wrote:

A black man in a "Lincoln-Douglas" style debate. Talk about irony..lol.

Perhaps. It was an initial assessment I felt comfortable taking, though.FEOS wrote:

I could care less about minor stammers and stutters as long as the product is clear thought and a real response to the question. Palin may not stammer, but it is only because she is regurgitating the same stuff.Harmor wrote:

Lol good I'm glad there are tons of rumors that ignorant people think are true about Palin.
About time considering the bull shit that has been spewed about Obama. And I still talk to people everyday that still think he is a Muslim. STILL!
About 5 hours ago someone said that only the Democrats are trashing McCain. So it shouldn't be surprising that McCain continues to gain ground.
