I predict a mass suicide on these forums when people start to realize how similar these candidates really are. Did you hear him tell O'reilly that withdrawal time and numbers would depend on conditions on the ground (determined by commanders)? Gee, that sounds very familiar.

I predict Biden will step down despite Obama's "strong objection". Then Hillary will save the Dems day. Wild guess...

The Bush Doctrine is a lie, say what you want but it is. It isn't all Bushes fault that the economy sucks. It is the major government spending from both parties that has made our economy bad.

The Bush doctrine isn't an opinion.  The Bush Doctrine is our sitting president's stated foreign policy.   Preemptive strikes on percieved enemies posing an eminent threat.

Now I sound like Charlie Gibson.

Oh boy. I just love it when people try to liken Obama's interview with O'Reilly with Palin and Gibson's.

He interrupted Obama several times and acted just like the douche that Papa-Bear is.

Gibson was tamer that many of the teachers I had in high school and Uni.

The video clearly shows her incompetence, and many of 'yall' STILL refuse to accept it.

When you watch the Obama one next to the Palin interview you'd really struggle to claim that Palin doesn't look terrible.

she seems very condescending towards the reporter. almost like a bully. she seems very nervous and such. obama at least exhumes confidence.

Try to imagine if O'Reilly was actually a Dem with the same kind of interview tactics and he's interviewing Palin instead of Obama. Dear god, that would be a complete massacre.

You can't say the same for Gibson cause he was far more professional than O'Reilly. He was simply presenting the questions and looking for an answer, yet she still screwed it up.

So I don't see what grounds people are going by when they try to compare the two interviews and the competency of the people being interviewed.

ya, very interesting wasn't it?  he was all for pulling out and then all of sudden things are getting better and more and more iraqis are starting to kick out al-q, he changes his "losing" tune.

The links in your post are from Fox News.  Provide me something neutral, something from Wikipedia.
Fox News is not conservative news you know. It is way more liberal than you think.

Gibson really pisses me off with his stupid questions, and also what is the point of watching interviews when they cut things out to make it short and make the person being interviewed look like a douchebag. Seriously pisses me off.

Liberal media's fault once again.

I agree, and it's not retarded. It's truth.

I await somebody asking Obama if he agrees with the " Bush Doctrine " or preventive action.

If he is asked if he would attack so and so country if he knew an attack was imminent he would say yes and thus he believes in the " Bush Doctrine ".

And, btw, don't be morons. Look.

The " Bush Doctrine " is a term created by the media.

Double standards?
In the days leading up to Charles Gibson’s interview with Sarah Palin, many demanded that he ask her tough questions on foreign policy and reform.  Certainly that is what journalists should do with all of our elected officials and political candidates, but it seems that Gibson doesn’t always meet this standard.  Two bloggers have already provided evidence that Gibson treated Democrats much differently

Obama interview

How does it feel to break a glass ceiling?
How does it feel to “win”?
How does your family feel about your “winning” breaking a glass ceiling?
Who will be your VP?
Should you choose Hillary Clinton as VP?
Will you accept public finance?
What issues is your campaign about?
Will you visit Iraq?
Will you debate McCain at a town hall?
What did you think of your competitor’s [Clinton] speech?

http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/09...with-abc-news/
Palin interview:
Do you have enough qualifications for the job you’re seeking? Specifically have you visited foreign countries and met foreign leaders?
Aren’t you conceited to be seeking this high level job?
Questions about foreign policy
-territorial integrity of Georgia
-allowing Georgia and Ukraine to be members of NATO
-NATO treaty
-Iranian nuclear threat
-what to do if Israel attacks Iran
-Al Qaeda motivations
-the Bush Doctrine
-attacking terrorists harbored by Pakistan
Is America fighting a holy war? [misquoted Palin]

We would have no problem with tough questioning to hold Republican candidates accountable if the media would perform the same task with Democrats.  Yet no major media outlet has reported on Barack Obama’s long association with and defense of William Ayers, an unrepentant domestic terrorist, nor have they pressed him on his lack of executive experience or the absence of any significant political accomplishments except his own elections.  We await that interview with great anticipation and no hope whatsoever of it ever occurring.

No, no.

Preemptive strikes and attacks are actually legal and semi-justified.

The Bush Doctrine as laid out in the National Security Council documents states preventative warfare. That's a whole different ballgame.

I'd imagine it was an expansion of Clinton policy. Clinton made it the official policy to remove Saddam. Or maybe even an expansion of the Carter doctrine. Carter was the President who made it official US Policy to intervene in the mideast with military force in order to ensure our oil supply.

How could I? Every politician does.

But the people trying to equate his to McCain's (albeit he's gotten better) gaffes are fucking ridiculous. He might have his moments, but they're nowhere near as bad as McCains have been.

Nor has he had to have a butt buddy (Lieberman) correct him on it.
