Why is McCain seen as a continuation of the Bush administration?

Easy question. There's been distancing from the current administration by both camps.

I would think mostly it has to do with Iraq, but that's in process of stepping down.

I see Obama's tack on Iraq, and although he wants to get out of Iraq, he mentions he wants to take his time & get it right. Just like McCain.

Also, I've watched debates on Obama where he says he has no problem with committing more troops into Afghanistan or Pakistan if necessary. So the old "Obama's a pussy and hates war" thing doesn't carry weight for me.

So it's really a simple question - Why, when McCain is distancing from GWB admin is it seen as a continuation if he wins?

War? Economics? Internal programs? What?

If so, then what's different from Obama in that case.

My opinion is this is the usual political swing. Pissed at a republican? vote democrat. Why? Because someone told me it was different.

So is this continuation?

Really?

I thought he was saying he'd stay there until Iraq was stable. Which is the same thing Obama is saying.

Well, unless you're referring to the "we'll stay there 10 years if we have to" comment. But he's backed off that now right?

Obviously it is. Like I said it provided no context. It's rather sad to think people fall for the selective cut and paste act. McCain has been a Senator for a very long time. They've got plenty of material to play these games with.
