As I told Miggle on Xfire, I don't really care that much about mods. And if any do come out that are worth it, I'll pick it up on PC at a later date.DoctaStrangelove wrote:

It's only 20 bucks extra for a bobblehead, poster, soundtrack, artbook and lunchbox (lol). Sounds like a good deal to me.
oh and I just noticed
That explains why oblivion pops into my head

Oblivion was great for mods, you could totally pimp out your game. Also the mods were very easy to make so allot of 'em were made, and good ones too. Seeing how this is also being made by Bethesda I have little doubt it won't get a good mod editor.
don't waste your time, I told him about oblivion's mods and how they make the game fucking amazing.DoctaStrangelove wrote:

I fail to see how achievements are worth sacrificing all that other shit and paying more money, but whatever.
VATS is further proof that FPS games should be on pc though. You have to freeze time in order to get off a shot on consoles.

I'm sorry, but all the mods you listed on Xfire didn't seem that big of a deal to me. I don't need to re-skin my weapons.Miggle wrote:

Erm, no...VATS is just assistance. You realize it's on PC too, right?
Oh shit. Fallout 3 DOES have GFW Live achievements.
PC it is!
PC it is!
yes, but VATS probably would not be in a PC exclusive.Poseidon wrote:

And there are mods that add quests and new continents, there's even a port of morrowind (WIP) to oblivion's engine. Oblivion is sooooooo much better on pc than consoles.
And I like VATS, I think they're a wonderful way of dealing with the problem of a controller in an FPS. I just prefer not to have that problem in the first place.
Well, doesn't matter now, I'm getting it on PC. One of the biggest reasons I was going to get it on PC was because of achievements, and it has them with GFW - Live. So, no worries. <3 MS for making GFW Live Gold free.Miggle wrote:

I think VATS would still be there, dude. It adds to the PIPBoy3000's usefulness, and is generally helpful for when you're being swarmed. Plus, it's just badass to see those slowmotion head-implosion shots anyways.
I think VATS were created as a workaround for consoles.Poseidon wrote:

There was something similar in the original Fallouts, but it used an extra energy point...
I plan to play without VATS. They don't look fun.
You'll be missing some epic stuff...Miggle wrote:

sound great once, but I'll just stick to needing skill and aim.
It's not just guns though...you can do it with grenades and get some epic cinematics there of people's limbs flying off, you can use the Railgun (shoots railroad spikes) and see slow cinematics of the nail impaling the guy's head to a wall (watch part 4 of the PAX walkthrough).Miggle wrote:

So much more.
Oh, and you can shoot someone's leg entirely off with a sniper rifle and watch that in slow-mo as well.
GREAT!Poseidon wrote:

not really though, I hardly see freezing time to get shots fun. Watching it over in slo-mo will get old fast too.
Well, as I said, the cinematics are just perks. I won't use it that much, but will use it if I'm getting swarmed.Miggle wrote:

Also; I think there's online. GameTrailers had said there was one MAJOR aspect that hasn't been revealed yet.
I see logos for GFW - Life, Xbox Live and PSN on the site.
...Coincidence?
Poseidon, A rail gun is this:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rail_gun
No, I know. This is taking "RAILGUN" to the literal sense.
Watch the 4th video in the updates section of the OP. It shoots railroad spikes. The dev even called is a Railgun, I'm pretty sure.
Edit: Okay, he says "Railway Rifle". Close enough.

There were a couple things about the game that bothered me, however. Hit detection seemed somewhat spotty. For instance, when I swung a bat at the merchant’s face, the bat sort of clipped through the guy’s face. Another thing that irked me was that the game’s combat lacked a sense of realism. In order to cripple the merchant as he ran away from me, I had to shoot him at least ten times in the leg. One other thing that bugged me is that the game’s third person view just does not look very good. Sure it’s pretty cool to be able to see the new armor and clothing you obtain as the game progresses, but the character models look so bland in comparison to the amazing looking environments.
