Is it true that BF2 does not support  USB Headset/MIC's.  I have a nice Logitech (USB interface) Headset with microphone and it does not seem to always work properly within BF2.  I also cannot seem to test it properly from within the ingame Audio options menu (test threshold volume??).  Just wont work right.  Do you have to have a Headset unit that directly connects to the sound card via one of those smaller plugs into the color coded ports on the sound card itself??  Any help is greatly appreciated.  Thanks a million!

Yes it is true, battlefield 2 does not support usb microphones. You *may* be able to get a USB converter and plug your existing usb headset into your sound card, but I have not tried so I cannot tell you. Its worth looking in to if you don't want to buy a new mic.

There are all sorts of issues with the VOIP in BF2.

It does not work properly with USB Headsets.
It does not work properly with jacked headphones using Onboard Sound Devices on their Mainboards. For some odd reason there are a lot of bugs with this sort of set up.

The only setup that has the least amount of issues is when a Jacked headphone/mic headset is plugged into a Soundcard (Audigy or higher).

Thanks for all the info. guys.  I went out yesterday and got a different headset/mic combo with the 3.5 mm plugs instead of the USB interface.  It seemed to be working last night for awhile when plugged into the back of my PC (onboard audio jacks).  But then of course it failed on me again.  I still cannot test my mic from within the bf2 audio settings either, I move the slider back and forth and still nothing comes up on the volume meter when I am speaking.  Also, the "MIC GAIN BOOST" from within the BF2 settings is grayed out and I cannot check the box, not sure what's up there.  I think I'm going to try a Sound Card and disable the onboard stuff.  Any suggestions for a good and more importantly a BF2 compatible Sound card.  Thanks again for the help.
