Hi, i se a lot of post that tells the same problem i have. btf2 sloowww loadings.
My specs are this: 1 gb ram, core 2 duo 1,86 ghz, nvidia gforce go 7600 (latest vista drivers) and 7200 rpm hard drive and wind vista 32 bits.
I try the following thigs:
format pc, desfragment hard drive, clean hard drive, reinstall btf2, patch again btf2, uninstall and reinstall punkbuster and the loadings always take 10-15 mins on low settings. but when it loads doesnt matter the settings are on mid low or high, the game runs pretty smooth. The problem is the loading times........
And many people will say:

-Upgrade your ram to 2gb
I cant upgrade my ram cos i use a laptop, anyway, i use readyboost for vista and i see no diference. readyboost is this:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ReadyBoost

-Use sata hard drive or raid
again, i hav a laptop and i couldnt do that.

-Buy another pc.
I gonna do it soon but at the moment i want a solution to play in this one.

Plz help me, i read all the post about this and no fix or solution i found.
Any help will be much appreciate.

1gb ram + laptop + vista = bad...you need ATLEAST 2gb to be able to play games smooth on vista on a desktop...on a laptop its even worse
when i bought my new laptop first thing i did was install xp pro sp3 and get rid of that crap OS

As has been said Vista + low ammount or RAM + games = fail

You're losing 75%+ of the RAM as soon as you turn the laptop on, leaving about 250MB left for BF2 which is nowhere near enough.

You either need a big RAM upgrade or get rid of Vista and install XP, or you could spend a few hours cutting the fat off Vista so it doesn't use quite so much RAM, personally I'd go for XP, I like Vista but it needs masses of RAM to run properly and you simply don't have it.

But all the games that i play including battlefield2, when im playing they run very smooth, even on high, but the loads in btf2 run very slow, go back to xp isnt a solution, im vry happy with vista.
Ahm, and if the only solution is going back to xp, i wanna know how to uninstall vista to install xp, bcos if i dont delete correctly the vista license on my laptop, i will not be able to use it on other pc and i throw 400 euros of wind vista to the garbich.

If the only solution is going back to xp, and my new computer is arriving in a few days i want to know if the specs will be enought to load fast, i see guys who load in 11 secs:

Core 2 Quad Q9450 (2,67 GHz)
NVIDIA nForce 780i
2x NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX in sli
4 GB ram DDR2-800
Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 (64-bit)
2x 640 GB SATA hard drives with raid enabled
blu-ray/DVD-RW
750 Watts power supply
Liquid cooling

I Think is more than enought, and hope the graphic card is compatible with btf2.

If slow loading is your problem, go here. They tell you approximately how much the video settings affect your loading time. It really helped my loading times a lot.

Why is upgrading your ram not an option? Most laptops these days will be upgradable ram wise. Tell me what laptop you have (make and model) and I'll find you some ram.

Waste money? Don't you want to fix this problem? It's one of two things. Slow harddrive or not enough ram, I have a 2006 dell inspiron, I upgraded from 1 gig to 2 gigs a few months back, cost me £20. The fact that you've reformatted and that didn't seem to help tells me that this is a hardware issue and if you want to combat it, you will need to upgrade, thus costing you money.

I have 3 gb of good (but not great) ram and a rather slow hd. Vid settings on high. I, on average load maps in 20 seconds (64 Player versions). But, I'm on 32bit vista. So, don't exsept it to load in 5 second. But, you wont be waiting more then 30 seconds unless I'm missing something.

Also, what do you consider a slow loading time?

Same, cept the lappy was from '05. RAM is cheap now, and its only annoying to install if one of your RAM modules is under the keyboard.

Youve tried loading twice from the same graphics settings right? Cause when you reset your graphics you have to optimize shaders and shit, and it doesnt always say its doing it... Also remember that the first map load in a session of BF2 will be slower than the second; eg. you start BF2, load Mashtuur, round ends, you go to Clean Sweep, Clean sweep will load (atleast for me) 2x faster than Mashtuur loaded. Also, after you load to the main menu in BF2, try alt+tabbing out, open up the Task Manager, go to processes, find BF2.exe, right click it and on the menu that comes down click "Set Affinity...", then a box will come up that will say something like "CPU 1       CPU 0" and will have check boxes, uncheck ONE of them and press OK. Then go back to BF2 and try to load it.

Is there any particular part of the load that is really slow?

The graphics card will rape BF2.

You could run pretty much everything on High with that rig, and get excellent output.  Except maybe Crysis, but even then you'll still rape.

Two 9800GTX in SLI, your ready to tackle the world, my friend.
