Russia will stay saying that they are looking for terrorist and stay there for a couple of years later finding out that the terrorist they were looking for went to some other country nearby maybe they can try Azerbaijan<=====sarcasm. This can turn ugly if people/countries are lying.

Or today for them.  Almost as fast as the US from Iraq.
Because the two situations are exactly alike.

No, you are right.  This is happening next to Russia, and Iraq is thousands of miles away from the US.

They're still going to be in South Ossetia, Georgia will never step foot in that region again. Expect SO to either be an independent country or that Russia will "generiously urge" that SO join with North Ossetia to "secure their region from external threats"

I can see it all now. I could see it as soon as they went in. They're not going to do all of this out of "goodwill", nobody does that. Everyone does something for something, especially the Russians

Not that I'm complaining that much, Georgia had it coming and I ain't that annoyed as it's not like we've been dragged into this

It's quite ironic how GWB asked Russia to leave Georgia, and the US has been occupying Iraq for more than 5 years.  But the Russians are the real menace.

Like the US would do shit if Russia took control over Georgia.

Bush would probably say: "Hey guys, give the land back, its not cool.", but no real action whatsoever.

I think he was referring to Georgia attacking the separatists.

Yeah, it confused me at first too.  I think he was hinting at Russia being the superpower.

That, and the fact that the Georgian government is still in place, Russia isn't occupying the entire country, Saakashvili isn't hanging from the end of a rope, etc.

It's a hell of a lot easier to pull out if you're not having to occupy the entire country and re-establish governance and whatnot. Little differences like that.

Wasn't there a government in Iraq that the US used to support in the past?

Things change. Britain isn't an enemy of the United States anymore also.
