Can't get my home network to connect to the internats.

Atm, it's hooked up like this:

wall -> ISDN box -> Modem -> Router -> PC

Router set up with PPPoE with the correct username and password.

It is a D-Link DIR-655 and is being set up using Windows XP.

Status: Disconnected.

The Log tells me nothing.

no, but that has never worked for me. Both before I used my old router, after the old router died, and now. And the old router worked on the internet.

I am not an expert at any of this, but what happens to mine is that the modem loses the IP. So I unplug everything (pull power cords on router and modem) for a minute or 2. Plug it back in and let everything go through the boot up. Normally that fixes, but it might not. All I can suggest. Hope it helps

I'm pretty sure it's PPPoE, because I remember having to input a username and password, and my router doesn't have that option for DHCP.

btw, I just saw that my modem has 2 lights labled "PPPoE / ACT" and "DSL". They aren't lit.

Strange this ISDN box you've got. I'd have thought the two technologies were incompatible...

No DSL light means the modem can't connect to your town's exchange... well, in Australia anyway. Your networks are weird.

It's not a modem/router combo google results show. It has 1 line in and one out (goes to router, or PC).

Thats funny, my parents have a 660HW and it's a router. Can you connect to the modem directly, enter 192.168.1.1 and plug in your login info from there?

Bring up IPCONFIG, does the modem even give out IPs?

(while plugged directly into its ethernet like max is suggesting thar)

ISP - let me put up the speed and see if that helps
