I'm sure most of you have played the new Wake Island 2007, and man does it bring back good memories of 1942. However, who actually read the breifing?
In a surprise move, forces of the People's Liberation Army have attacked and captured Wake Island in a bid to threaten US lines of supply.USMC forces have been short-stopped from their deployment in Manchuria to respond to this new threat. The airbase on Wake Island is the lynchpin of the Chinese air threat, however it is highly susceptible to ground attack from either the northern or southern approaches of the island.
Notice how the USMC has gone to Wake rather than Manchuria. Maybe we were meant to get a map featuring Manchuria but because of the long wait for 1.03, EA/Dice decided to give the BF community a treat by giving us Wake Island 2007 for our patience. Maybe not, i don't know.
Now looking for Manchuria on google brings back lots of different results, but mainly focusing on a Japanese attack on Manchuria in Chinain the 1930's. Maybe we'll get a future map set here, with the USMC invading Manchuria with the PLA on defence?
I recon that this is a potential future map. In 1942, all the breifing's only mentioned other avaliable maps. I might be totally wrong, but honestly I hope I'm on to something here.
