I've had battlefield 2 laying around for a long time, never having the time to play, When I installed the game I played for a while on patch 1.0.20 or something (I can't quite remember). After a while I decided to patch to 1.4. I guess I did it wrong. I downloaded patch 1.4 and it installed. At the end I got a little window saying patch failed. Now when I try to play BF2 auto-exits shortly after starting it up. I'm guessing I should have patch to 1.1 first, and so on. Is there anything that can be done?? I tried the FAQ but most of the links were broken and the only working one went to a farcry discussion on what color crosshair you use.
Do you have just BF2 V. Or do you have some of the boosters/expantions?blado22 wrote:

All I have is battlefield 2, nothing else.
Not shure, but i think installing BF2 and then the current patch should have been fine. My best guess is that the patch was crupit. And when you ran it, it messed up your BF2. So, i would suggest reinstalling BF2 then a newly downloaded patch from a different site.

There's a repair install on the bf2 disc. But you should uninstall first, then just install normally. Get the 1.41 patch. If it says patching failed, try it again. It will eventually work.
