Play hardcore mode, if you're the type of player who always sees people first, and shoots first but always ends up dying (like me). You'll love hardcore mode as it usually means people will drop before they get a chance to do their typical FPS video game shit (strafing, jumping, running etc) and kill you.

Also play hardcore mode with stopping power as a perk. Just to make sure people die extra fast.

use a silencer, especially on a G36

use silenced weapon w/ uav jammer. stops you from showing as a big FREAKIN red dot that basically screams " OMG, SHOOT ME,SHOOT ME"

Or just bind the secondary fire key to the mousewheel so you just have to scroll once for one shot, even on automatic rifles.

I've outsniped snipers with an MP5 doing that.

Practice practice and more practice. No matter how much advice you get given, it won't make much difference if you don't know every map like the back of your hand. Takes a few hours to get it, but it comes with time. I would suggest P90 with faster shooting and steady aim to start.

(My personal choice is MP5 with stopping power steady aim)

Then once you can hold your own in 1 v 1 close combat, get an ak47 with stopping power and steady aim.

All these with Bandolier and stun grenade I think is best. Each to their own though, you might own people with the UZI for all I know.

Everyone starts of rubbish, it's natural. Just spend time playing a Free For All server (Free Porn for all is my fave... non hardcore one) This server does all the maps and most people that play are noobs. With some pretty good players mixed in.

Just practice ALOT! and your sorted. Don't give up when your getting owned.

Keep moving. If you stop to look around, you're bound to get shot.
Move from cover to cover. Don't stand in the open for too long.
If you have to get somewhere, find the quickest way, and move fast. Stay as close to your teammates as possible, and don't wander into enemy grounds.
Pick a good weapon selection. There are many combos, but you have to find the best one to suit you.
Finally, stop worrying about getting your ass kicked and focus on kicking other peoples asses.

Hardcore + M4 w/ RDS + Bandolier + Sleight of Hand + Last Stand. Rack up tons of kills!
On non-hardcore, mini-uzi w/ silencer + stopping power + steady aim.
For sniping, M21 (the semi-auto one before SVD) w/ ACOG scope + stopping power + deep impact + bandolier. Pure amazement, esp. on hardcore. Just spam through walls if you think someone's there, and in fact just spam everywhere.

Basically just play around with perks and guns until you find the combination that works best for you.

Ok, your trying too hard. The way i stopped getting owned was to take care, use your surroundings, pick your moves, learn the maps. If you learn to stop throwing yourself into firefights and concentrate on staying alive you will instantly start turning that - into a + KDR and you'll be surprised that you are usually the top killer on your team.

Another great tip is to throw your pistol away at the 1st opportunity and collect a proper gun off the nearest corpse so if you get into a fight and empty your magazine you can quickly switch for the coup de grace, or if you grab a sniper rifle or shotty your covered depending on what your doing. It's a way of having the overkill perk for free and that's gotta be a boon

Use all the guns one at a time, find which one suits u the best and then use it... make ur classes properly eg. i have a Rush/assault class (P90+AK+GLA), a sniper class, stealth class, heavy fire class, etc etc. customise for u. next find 3 maps that u really like. and know them like the back of ur hand. then pwn noobs like u used to be

This game depends on which game mode you play, you wana be rambo then TDM is for you, but for me the only game to play Hardcore S&D. I only play on tactical servers so no nades for 20 seconds, always have to use sights, no spamming walls smoke and so on. It takes skill to play that way and is just the way it should be played.

You want tips,

Its each to there own, what gun you someone else says is the best may not suit you. So firstly find what gun your good with.
Get to know the map, once you know where people go to hide you always get kills there.
Take your time, running around will get you killed quicker and make you spend more time dead then alive.
